One of the biggest misconceptions about preventing type 2 diabetes is that it’s simply about diet and exercise.
It isn’t.
From the perspectives of both Yoga and Ayurveda, lasting health comes from addressing the root causes of imbalance. Chronic stress, poor sleep, unhealthy routines, emotional dysregulation, and improper nutrition all contribute to insulin resistance and metabolic dysfunction.
This is why yoga is so much more than physical postures.
Through breathwork, meditation, mindfulness, movement, and conscious daily habits, yoga helps regulate the nervous system and create the behavioral changes necessary for long-term health. Ayurveda complements this with individualized nutrition, daily routines, digestive support, and lifestyle practices that restore balance before disease develops.
Together, Yoga and Ayurveda offer a powerful, holistic approach to preventing type 2 diabetes and creating lasting wellness.
As my education has expanded through Ayurveda, Integrative Medicine, and the CDC’s National Diabetes Prevention Program, I’ve completely evolved the Jai Bhakti 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training to reflect this integrated approach.
If you’ve previously completed or enrolled in the training, you’ll receive complimentary access to the updated curriculum in the coming months.
If you’re feeling called to teach yoga, deepen your practice, or learn how Yoga and Ayurveda can support lifelong health, let’s connect for a one-on-one discovery call and see if this next step is right for you.
