A little pinch-me moment ✨ My first-ever full feature article (!!) was in the June/July issue of — and was all things SKINCARE. 🧴☀️

I loved getting to dig into a topic that so many of us care about: what actually matters when it comes to taking care of our skin, where nutrition fits into the picture, and how to cut through some of the noise surrounding skincare and aging.

A huge shoutout to for sharing her expertise and guidance along the way. So grateful to have a trusted dermatologist helping us separate what’s worth our time (and money!) from what isn’t.

Beginning in the 1980s, to***co giants acquired some of America’s biggest food companies—and brought with them decades of expertise in product optimization, flavor chemistry, packaging and marketing psychology.

The result? Ultra-processed foods engineered not simply to taste good, but to keep us coming back for more.

I’m thrilled to be presenting on this connection today at the 2026 Conference—and exploring how understanding the history behind our food environment can help us create a healthier future.

Swipe through a few slides from today’s presentation to see how Big Tobacco’s playbook made its way from ci******es to the ultra-processed foods lining grocery-store shelves.

Don’t let “perfect” get in the way of so much better. 🌱

I once worked with someone whose diet was almost entirely ultra-processed foods—think burgers, fries, chips. But when I suggested canned spinach as an easy place to start, his response was: “Isn’t canned spinach bad for you?”

This is where perspective matters. Canned spinach may not be your idea of nutrition perfection, but it’s still spinach—and it can be a meaningful step toward eating more real, whole foods.

Start small: Choose one or two minimally processed foods you genuinely enjoy and work them into your routine.

Then make the foods you’re trying to eat less of a little less convenient—out of the house, out of sight or out of reach.

Those seemingly tiny shifts add up. Progress over perfection, always.

Hear more about ultra-processed foods, food addiction, brain health and the influence of the food industry in the latest episode of FUELED Wellness + Nutrition, featuring Dr. Erica LaFata. Tune in on your go-to podcast app.
