Wild Bunch Special Olympics

Wild Bunch Special Olympics Wild Bunch Special Olympics provides sports training and competition for people with intellectual disabilities of all ages in New Ulm and surrounding area.

The Wild Bunch Special Olympics team is founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports, adapted as necessary to meet the needs of those with intellectual and physical disabilities. We believe that consistent training is essential to the development of sports s

The Wild Bunch as part of Special Olympics Minnesota believes that through sports training and competition, people with intellectual disabilities benefit physically, mentally and socially; families are strengthened; and the community at large, both through participation and observation, is united in understanding people with intellectual disabilities in an environment of equality, respect and acceptance. Our Values:
Respect – Valuing and accepting human differences and the unique abilities of all people in our communities

Accomplishment - Celebrating the fulfillment of individual potential

Choice - Providing opportunities for self-determination

Quality - Striving for excellence in all we do

Partnership - Achieving more than we can alone by collaborating with others

Integrity - Fostering a culture based on the highest standards of personal and professional principles

STATE SOFTBALL INFORMATION
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming State Softball – 8/14-8/16 at M Health Fairview Sports Center! 4125 Radio Drive, Woodbury, MN. Thank you so much for your participation and for everything you’ve done to get your team ready—we couldn’t do this without you.

Check-in: Begins at 8:00 AM
Our check-in station will be in the small concessions building in the wheel of fields 10-13.

Game setup for scheduling:
All Unified Games will be played on Friday, while Traditional and Coach Pitch games will all be Saturday and Sunday.
Individual Skills participants will be required to participate anywhere from 9:00am - 10:20am on Saturday morning.

Awards:
Awards will be presented on the field after each pool's last game. If final games do not end at the same time, please visit the middle pavilion of fields 10-13 to pick up awards if your finishing place is final. If not, we will ship awards to any team who needs them!

Meals & Supplies:
Lunch will be provided both on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be concessions on site in the main building to the east of the softball fields! Along with concessions there will be a few food trucks and drink vendors between the main east parking lot and the softball fields!

Sunscreen is strongly encouraged and bringing your own shade would also be highly recommended as shade will be limited—please plan accordingly!

Animals at Competitions:
Certified Service Animals are permitted to attend any Special Olympics Competition. However, all other animals, including Emotional Support Animals, are not allowed at Special Olympics Competitions.
We acknowledge and appreciate the value that Emotional Support Animals bring, but this guideline is rooted in prioritizing the health and safety of all individuals present.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure reasonable accommodation for everyone at our competitions. As we strive for inclusivity, we will continue to assess available options and update the guidelines as necessary.

Other Notes
Please park in the parking lot directly east or west of the fields as the parking lot on the other side of the main office will be used for Bocce participants!
A note we had from our regionals was about having 3 outfielders and 5 infielders instead of the traditional 4 outfielders and 4 infielders' setup. This will be allowed in Traditional and Coach Pitch play for State Softball but will not be allowed in Unified as there is a balance between athlete and Unified Partners.
