To mark the end of our winter session, we hosted an amazing showcase to celebrate our members’ achievements. ⭐️

During the program, members shared excerpts of short stories and poems they wrote in our “Creative’s Path” class, projects from our Community Knitting Group, accomplishments in from our nutrition class, and more–all surrounded by loving community. ❤️

"Moments of Joy: A Community Photo Project" is a Black History Month collaboration between the Center for Wellbeing & Happiness & The Lower Eastside Girls Club. Throughout the month, community members used disposable cameras to capture moments of joy, exploration, pride, love and grief.

This Tuesday, we closed the month with our members coming together to celebrate the lives of Black & Brown folks in our community on the Lower East Side. 💙 Photos were shown via a slideshow and curated in albums for members to take home with them. We also heard from the photographers themselves and their experiences creating the images, the importance of being more present, and finding joy in daily life.
