Because you don’t dread facing the day and feel like you’re running through molasses trying to get your work done because you need a few weeks off.

A trip to the islands would be nice, but if we’re being real you’ll still be checking your email and panicking about going back.

The problem isn’t your time off. It’s that you’ve been living beyond your capacity for so long you’re stuck in high-functioning survival mode.

You don’t need a vacation (though it would be nice).
You need a full nervous system transplant.

Everyone’s saying “here’s my weird little rules”. Mine aren’t weird. They’re epic and I highly recommend!

1. Mornings are for me. I don’t rush. I don’t answer the phone. I move my body with zero interruptions.

2. If I have headphones on, don’t talk to me.

3. If I’m in another room, walk to me instead of yelling out my name, I won’t answer.

4. Don’t ask me where things are if you haven’t looked yourself.

5. I don’t make plans on weeknights. Non-negotiable unless it’s a special occasion. I take my work and client sessions seriously, I’m not willing to be tired for that.

6. Weekends have at least one day of doing nothing. One day with a plan, but never back-to-back plans in a day.

7. If I’m upset about something, I’ll tell you. If I think you’re upset about something, I’ll ask you. Emotional guessing games are dysregulating. I’m not interested.

8. If the door is shut, that means don’t come in. Better yet, I’ll just lock it. Bathroom, getting ready, work, and workouts are uninterrupted time. If my husband needs me he can wait or text me. (We also have a walkie-talkie app, it’s super fun lol)

9. No working after 7pm or on the weekends unless it’s a big project. Sometimes I need to but I don’t make it a habit. I did that when I was building my business and my body paid the price - no thank you.

10. No stressful conversations after 8pm, I care about my sleep.

11. I don’t skip meals. It doesn’t matter how busy I am or where I am. I will be eating lol. Men can go longer without eating and it doesn’t affect their nervous system like it does ours. Eat.

12. Energy vampires and chronic complainers get the axe. I spent way too many years getting dragged down. Life is so much more magical when you move on.

13. No unannounced visitors or last minute plans that feel pressured. Something about it just rocks my nervous system. I prefer to know my plan and that’s just me.
