What does Spravato actually feel like? 🧠

Spravato for PTSD — what should you know?

Spravato (esketamine) is a nasal spray that targets brain pathways involved in mood and stress regulation.

🧠 What to know:
• May help reduce PTSD symptoms, especially with co-occurring depression
• Works differently than traditional antidepressants
• Administered under medical supervision in a clinical setting
• Typically used alongside therapy, not as a standalone treatment

⚠️ Possible side effects include dissociation, sedation, and temporary increases in blood pressure.

It’s a promising option, but not first-line and not for everyone.

Looking to understand when it’s appropriate and how it’s used in practice?

Play therapy for anxious children: effective treatment or just structured play?

It’s often dismissed because it doesn’t look like “real” therapy.

But children don’t process emotions the same way adults do.

🧠 Through structured play, therapists can help children:
• Express anxiety they can’t verbalize
• Work through fears indirectly
• Build emotional regulation skills

The criticism: it’s too indirect.
The counterpoint: that’s exactly why it works.

Is play therapy essential or overrated in treating childhood anxiety?
