This man right here took me under his wing when I was a baby doc. He showed me how to examine performers (our hamstring evaluation looks awfully similar 🙃) and taught me what questions to ask. I learned that performing arts medicine was real. Since that time, he has continued to mentor me and graciously share his knowledge.

Practice what you preach.
Exercise “snacks” make a difference!

When two patients no-showed on me, I decided to do some squats in my little box of an office. A colleague saw me (::embarrassing::) and offered me her 30 lb dumbbell which I put to good use for some dumbbell deadlifts and sumo squats. 🏋🏻‍♀️💪🏽👩🏻‍⚕️

This past weekend, I had the honor of being awarded the Dominican Pillar Award at my high school alma mater.

SDA taught me what prayer looks like, not just in words, but in action and service. It taught me to believe that I deserve a seat at the table and to make space for others as well. To and the : thank you for shaping me into the woman I am today.

30 minutes for new patients. 15 minutes for follow-ups. 24 patients in eight hours with no breaks and no scribe. I love what I do but being present for each person while maintaining a tight schedule is tough, and sometimes people (it might be you one day!) may need a little longer. Please give your doctors some grace. We’re doing the best we can. 🩺👩🏻‍⚕️🩻💉🤕
