As we wrap up National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, Long Island Care Center is proud to recognize Stephanie Jiang, Speech-Language Pathologist, for the incredible impact she makes in the lives of our residents every day.

With nearly seven years of experience, Stephanie combines her passion for healthcare, language, and neuroscience to help residents regain one of life’s most meaningful connections: the ability to communicate and enjoy the foods they love.

What Stephanie values most about skilled nursing is witnessing residents achieve milestones that many take for granted, whether that’s expressing themselves to loved ones through speech or an AAC device, or safely enjoying a favorite meal again after dedicated therapy and swallowing exercises.

“Being an SLP incorporates what a lot of people want to enjoy in life…good food and conversation.”

Nothing beats a sunny day at the market. ☀️

Yesterday, we took our Long Island Care Center residents on a beautiful outdoor trip to visit the student-run farmers market at The Shield Institute.

The Shield Institute is an incredible school for children with disabilities, and their students brought the absolute best energy. Bringing our seniors and these amazing kids together created the most uplifting environment for everyone involved. It was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful outdoor community connection really is for our wellness and happiness.

🌻 Day 4 of National Nursing Home Week brought the sunshine indoors for Sunflower Day! ☀️

Our incredible staff lit up the center in vibrant shades of yellow and orange. They took the stage for an unforgettable afternoon of karaoke, filling our halls with music, laughter, and smiles. 🎤💛

Thank you to our amazing team for bringing so much joy, energy, and warmth to our residents every single day.
