Baboons rely on their hands for everything from climbing to foraging, so a palm injury is a major threat to their survival. We found this Olive Baboon with a rusted decking screw driven straight into its hand. It took a steady grip to extract it without causing further tissue damage, but we got it out cleanly and applied heavy pressure to stop the bleeding. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch them head back to their troop safely. Let us know what you think of this savanna rescue in the comments!
