What to have in place before the final day of school: an active DDD eligibility and service plan, a support coordinator you can actually reach, at least two programs or service options you have seen in person, a realistic transportation answer, and a plan for the hours between the end of programming and when a parent gets home from work. For twenty-one years there was a bus, a building, a schedule and a team of people who knew your child. Then there is a last day, and on the following Monday all of that is gone at once. Families call it the cliff, and the name is accurate.
