I’m excited to share that I have resumed seeing clients and am now accepting new clients in person at Bowie, MD, and virtually throughout Maryland!

You can currently find me providing services through Washington Area Clinical Center and Cultivate Wellness Counseling.

I work with children ages 10+, adolescents, adults, couples, and families through age 60, using an integrative approach that includes:

🌿 TALK — Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma-informed talk therapy
🧘🏽‍♀️ MOVE — Yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, and somatic movement
🎨 CREATE — Sand tray and expressive therapeutic approaches

My work centers on helping people strengthen their connection to self, connection to others, and connection to purpose—because therapy is not simply about reducing symptoms; it is about creating space to live more fully and intentionally.

Insurance options vary by practice and may include TRICARE, Cigna, and Medicaid, along with out-of-network and self-pay options.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, please reach out with questions. And please share—someone in your community may be looking for exactly this kind of support.

Life with Adhesive Arachnoiditis and Dysautonomia can be really unpredictable. I try to pace, take breaks, eat right, take medication, and hydrate but nothing really “stops the wave” …This day I was actually heading out the door as I got crazy sick and had to cancel plans.

I started taking the mentality that this too shall pass. The good times and the hard times are both temporary. This too shall pass.

Happy Monday for all my peeps trying their best out there. 🙂

📖 Book Club Discussion 📖

This week, we’re discussing a thought-provoking passage from The Courage to Be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga.

The philosopher argues that anger is often not an uncontrollable force but a tool we use to achieve a purpose. He illustrates this with the story of a mother who immediately stops yelling at her daughter to answer the phone politely when the teacher calls, then resumes yelling as soon as she hangs up.

This raises an interesting question:

Do you agree that emotions like anger are often expressed to accomplish a goal, or do you believe emotions sometimes truly overwhelm our ability to choose how we respond?

As you reflect, consider this through the lens of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT doesn’t ask us to suppress or eliminate difficult emotions. Instead, it encourages us to notice our thoughts and feelings without letting them dictate our actions. It asks a different question: “Even if I’m feeling angry, anxious, or hurt, what action aligns with the kind of person I want to be?”

How does that compare with Adler’s teleological perspective? Does recognizing the purpose of a behavior make it easier to choose a response that reflects your values? Or do you think emotions sometimes make that choice much more difficult?

Share your thoughts:

* Do you find Adler’s explanation convincing?
* How does the ACT perspective influence your understanding of this passage?
* Have you experienced a time when you chose to act according to your values rather than your emotions?

There are no right or wrong answers just an opportunity to explore different perspectives together and grow.

Movement and Anti-Inflammatory eating have really been getting better. I may have perfected the tumeric rice and refried beans.

Beets hummus is still a fan favorite. 💙.

Living with adhesive Arachnoiditis and dysautonomia is not easy but I’m learning that rest is an intervention too.
