🎂 Do you hate your birthday?

You’re definitely not the only one.

Birthdays can bring up a lot more than cake and celebration — expectations, aging, grief, disappointment, relationship dynamics, and that weird feeling of “I don’t want a big deal made… but I also don’t want to feel forgotten.” 👀

Sometimes birthdays aren’t just celebrations.

They’re mirrors. 🪞

Did you grow up thinking therapy was something you just… didn’t do? 🧐

For many Latino families, privacy, loyalty, strength, and “keeping things in the family” are deeply valued. 🇵🇷🫱🏼‍🫲🏾

But sometimes those same values can make asking for help feel uncomfortable, disloyal, or even shameful.

Therapy doesn’t mean rejecting your family or your culture. ❤️
Sometimes it means learning tools your family may never have had access to themselves.

✨ Breaking a pattern doesn’t mean you love your family any less.

🫷🏼Setting boundaries with family can feel like guilt before it feels like peace🫂

You’re not always rejecting the person — sometimes you’re just protecting the relationship. ❤️

Only about 8% of psychologists in the U.S. identify as Hispanic 🇨🇺🇨🇴

For me, that number is personal.

As a first-generation Latina and the first doctor in my family, representation became about more than earning a title. It became about creating a space where people from my community can feel understood, validated, and safe enough to ask for help. ❤️

Because sometimes being seen can make it a little easier to speak.

📱 Why does an unfollow feel so personal?

Because social media isn’t separate from our relationships anymore—it’s become one of the places where connection, rejection, conflict, and belonging actually play out.

And sometimes one tiny click can spill into something much bigger offline. 👀

🖤 What if there really was a Venom Syndrome?

The parts of ourselves we keep trying to quiet don’t always disappear.

Anger. Jealousy. Resentment. Impulses. The things we wish we could say but don’t. Sometimes the more we push them down, the louder they eventually become. 👀

Venom doesn’t create everything from nothing—he amplifies what’s already there.

Maybe the goal isn’t to silence those parts of ourselves… but to understand them before they start screaming for our attention. 🧠

Venom Syndrome is a metaphor, not a clinical diagnosis.

🔥 What if you’re not done… just burnt out?

Aaron Donald’s return is a good reminder that sometimes losing your drive doesn’t mean you’ve lost your passion.

Sometimes you just needed space to recover. 🧠💭

🧠 Psychosis is not always a light switch.

Symptoms can fluctuate. Insight can fluctuate. Someone can appear completely coherent in one moment and still be experiencing psychotic symptoms at another.

That does not tell us whether Lindsay Clancy was or was not psychotic.

It tells us why we need to be careful about drawing clinical conclusions from clips, testimony, and social media commentary.

💡 Think dimmer switch—not light switch.

🚩 When does a doctor-patient relationship become too personal?

Therapists and healthcare providers can be warm, human, and deeply supportive — but boundaries still matter.

Friendships, outside communication, business relationships, hiring each other for services, and romantic involvement can all create serious ethical concerns when the professional role starts to blur.

⚖️ The responsibility for maintaining that boundary belongs to the professional.

But if something feels uncomfortable, confusing, or “off,” you have every right to ask questions and speak up.

🧠 Good care should feel safe — not complicated.
