Sorin Medical is proud to welcome Dr. Wally A. Omar, a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist and Structural Heart Specialist joining our comprehensive Structural Heart Program.

Dr. Omar brings extensive expertise in complex coronary and structural heart disease, with advanced fellowship training from Harvard Medical School following his medical degree and residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He has authored more than 30 peer reviewed publications, helped lead pivotal clinical trials, and previously served as Director of Structural Heart Interventions at Northwell Health.

At Sorin Medical, Dr. Omar will help expand access to minimally invasive and nonsurgical therapies for patients with heart valve disease and atrial fibrillation, with a particular focus on stroke prevention. He’ll care for patients across the greater New York area, with privileges at NYU Langone Health in Manhattan and Brooklyn, as well as NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Join us in welcoming Dr. Omar to the team as we continue to provide advanced, patient centered cardiac care to our community. 🫀

A Long Island native and Penn State graduate, Reggie has spent the past year working here at Sorin Medical alongside our clinical and research teams. With a Master of Public Health already completed and a Master’s degree in Biology set to be completed next week, he has consistently brought intelligence, dedication, and kindness to everything he does. Whether assisting as a scrub technician or contributing to our research initiatives, Reggie has made a meaningful impact on our practice and the patients we serve. His work ethic, compassion, and commitment to medicine have been evident every step of the way.

While we are sad to see him leave Sorin Medical, we are incredibly proud to celebrate his acceptance to Drexel University College of Medicine, Class of 2031. Please join us in congratulating Reggie on this outstanding achievement and wishing him success as he begins this exciting next chapter. We know he has a bright future ahead.
