Blast off! 🚀 This simple balloon rocket is a real-life lesson in Newton’s third law, for every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. As air rushes out of the balloon, it pushes the balloon forward, exactly the same principle behind real rocket launches.

For kids, this activity builds an early understanding of force and motion, while also teaching patience and problem-solving as they figure out how to get the fastest launch. Bonus: it’s an instant hit for a backyard science afternoon.

Science that looks like magic ✨

Mix baking soda, vinegar, dish soap, and a little food coloring, and watch the fizzy reaction erupt! This is a real chemical reaction, baking soda (a base) + vinegar (an acid) = carbon dioxide gas, the same science behind real volcanoes.

For kids, this is a hands-on lesson in chemical reactions, but more importantly, it teaches them to observe, predict, and ask “”why”” when something unexpected happens. That curiosity is exactly what we nurture every day at WonderWorkz.

Science that looks like magic ✨ This lava lamp effect happens because oil and water don’t mix, oil is less dense, so it floats on top. When the Alka-Seltzer hits the water, it creates gas bubbles that carry color up through the oil, then sink back down once the gas escapes.

For kids, this is a hands-on lesson in density and chemical reactions, but more importantly, it teaches them to observe, predict, and ask “”why”” when something unexpected happens. That curiosity is exactly what we nurture every day at WonderWorkz.
