nt medicines heal and we’re here to guide you along your path of wellness. What initially began as a natural body care line, has expanded into a holistic wellness brand. We do herbal training and mentorship as well as teach workshops and classes on plant medicine, alignment, and healing. And because we believe that the cause of all physical pain and illness is rooted in the emotional body, we emphasize in our work the necessary addition and inclusion of spiritual practices to every health plan. Our company is small, but our commitment to healing is large. Let us be a resource, and if our spirits are aligned, let us help you along your journey of reclaiming your wholeness.

😬 Well, this is going to be an uncomfortable 75 minute intake.

I know y'all mean well, but when you decide that your spouse/partner needs to get their health together and you set up the appointment on their behalf, it rarely works.

Yes, they are suffering. Yes, you hate seeing them in pain. Yes, you’re probably also tired of them complaining about their health.

None of this changes the fact that people will not change for you. And them not changing doesn’t mean they don’t love you.

From my experience, multiple things are true…

They love you and they love fast food.

They hate that you’re mad at them and they hate the gym.

They don’t want to argue and they’re only going to follow my recommendations long enough to shut you up.

Everyone wants to be in charge of their own life and own their decisions. Whether you perceive their choices as good or bad, is irrelevant.

People change when they are ready, when they are clear about their problems, and when they are eager to receive help.

And as sad as it may be, that day may never come…

Self-determination theory (SDT) says people are more motivated when three needs are supported: autonomy, competence, and relatedness. In plain language, people change more easily when they feel like the choice is theirs, when they believe they can actually do it, and when they feel supported instead of pressured.

I beg of you, please stop setting your practitioners up on blind dates. If it wasn’t their idea, they are starting from resistance instead of readiness.

And we want our clients to be eager, open, and not checking the time waiting for the call to end.

Fellow practitioners, please tell me I’m not the only one experiencing this? How do y’all handle it when the person in front of you isn’t actually ready?

I think a lot of us come into herbalism through our own health journey.
We turn our health around with plants. Maybe we get off pharmaceuticals. We finally feel better. And somewhere along the way, it’s easy to start believing that because herbs changed our lives, they can change everyone else’s in the exact same way.
Clinical practice has a way of humbling that belief.
It certainly humbled me.
I can think of a few moments over the years where I had to change—not just my mind, but my beliefs about healing—because it would have been dangerous, and in some cases completely irresponsible, to tell a client they could do this without their medications.
I remember someone walking into the shop straight from the hospital after being treated for diabetic ketoacidosis. She didn’t want insulin. She wanted herbs.
I’ve had more than one person ask if herbs could heal their thyroid, only to tell me they had their thyroid removed years ago and weren’t sure if they still needed their medication.
One time I was with someone whose blood pressure was reading at stroke levels. I remember thinking, How are you talking to me right now? How are you functioning? And how are you denying that you have hypertension?
You don’t forget moments like this.
They made me realize how little nuance there is in many wellness spaces. Medical professionals and herbal professionals each hold distinct areas of expertise, and there is often a significant gap between what each field understands and what the average person has been taught about their own body.
And it does not help any of us —not herbalists, not medical professionals, and not the public— to know so little about the full range of modalities and tools that can support our well-being.
Too often, the conversation about herbs and pharmaceuticals is framed as one or the other. Natural versus pharmaceutical. Good versus bad. Healing versus harm.
But real clinical practice is rarely that simple.
Those experiences taught me that believing deeply in plant medicine does not relieve me of the responsibility to recognize when herbs are not enough.
They taught me clinical humility.

If you’re an herbalist, here’s why this matters.
This is not about politics, but this admin is ending Medicare Part D subsidies, meaning that premiums are likely to rise for many seniors
These subsidies have been helping keep prescription drug plan premiums lower for seniors.
Yes, it was always temporary. But it’s ending a year earlier than planned. And this is occurring alongside people already being in a financial choke-hold by this economy.
While an extra $20 bucks may seem like a little, for some, especially for those in one of our most vulnerable populations, our elders who may be on fixed incomes, 20 bucks could mean they’re choosing between food, paying a bill or medications.
And studies show that when medication costs go up, people stop taking them.

This is my final reminder.

⏳ The Herbalism Collective closes in just a few hours.

After today, you'll no longer be able to purchase this collection.

If you've been meaning to take a look, waiting for the right moment, or planning to come back later, this is that moment.

Inside you'll find:

🌿 50+ herbal courses, workshops, ebooks, and resources

🌿 Contributions from respected herbalists, creators, and educators

🌿 Home herbalism, apothecary skills, herbal hobbies, gardening, energetics, wellness

🌿 Two FREE bonus gifts (shipped directly to you)

🌿 The newly added Live Long & Thrive Summit ($197 value)

🌿 The LIVE Herbal Academy Building Herbal Confidence class ($55 value)

All together, it's one of the most thoughtful herbal education collections I've ever seen come together by some of my favorite herbalists of all time!

It features nearly $2,900 worth of herbal resources, for only $79. That’s unheard of!

And tonight is your last opportunity to get it.

If you've been waiting, I'd encourage you not to let this one pass by.

The Herbalism Collective Bundle closes tonight for good.

With joy,
Selima

PS: You don't need to use all 50+ resources to make this worthwhile. Most people will find one course, one teacher, or one topic that makes the entire purchase worth it—and everything else becomes a delightful bonus.

PPS: Tonight is the last chance to get this Collective, but, don’t worry, you’ll have a year to download all the resources!

Comment to see everything's that's in the bundle!

The Herbalism Collective bundle is one of the most supportive, grounded ways to step into a real home herbal practice without feeling overwhelmed or lost.

You’re not just getting a random collection of PDFs. You’re getting a whole ecosystem of experienced herbalists sharing their best frameworks, recipes, and practical tools so you can actually use plants with confidence, not just save pretty posts. 🤣

It’s perfect if you:

The Herbalism Collective Bundle is now in its final 48 hours, and I wanted to share it before it closes because what was so incredible already, just got even better!

This is a curated collection of 50+ herbal courses, ebooks, workshops, and guides from respected herbal educators and creators—normally valued at over $2,887.87.

Available only through tomorrow, July 30th for just $79.

And for the final 48 hours, two additional experiences have just been unlocked (and if you already signed up, don’t worry, you get access to these as well!):

🌿 A premium Live Long & Thrive Summit by The Art of Anti-Aging – including instant, on-demand access to 21 interviews with world-renowned longevity and healthy aging doctors and researchers sharing powerful insights into disease prevention, vitality, energy, brain health, mood support, and natural approaches to thriving through every stage of life.

It’s valued at $197.00!

🌿 A LIVE Herbal Academy class on Building Herbal Confidence – move from overwhelm to clarity in your herbal practice, understand how to begin using herbs in real-life ways, build a simple, sustainable herbal routine, and gain confidence choosing and working with herbs. This LIVE class brings the full Collective Community together on August 20 (and will be recorded for all bundle purchasers)!

It’s valued at $55.00!

Price for these two offerings: Included in the bundle for $79

As I’ve been sharing, I love this bundle because it’s not just one perspective.

This Collective brings together many different herbal teachers, traditions, and approaches in one place, so you can explore what resonates with you.

It’s especially helpful if you’re:

🌿 Building a home herbal practice

🌿 Looking for trusted, beginner-friendly herbal education

🌿 Wanting to explore different herbal traditions or teachers without committing to expensive individual courses

The bundle closes in 48 hours and will not be offered again in this format.

If you want to take a look, here’s the link.

Selima
