What happens when students, healthcare professionals, researchers, advocates, and community members come together around a shared goal of health equity?
You get conversations that challenge assumptions. Research that asks harder questions. And a community committed to improving health outcomes beyond the classroom.
Our 4th Annual Health Equity Summit brought together voices from across New York to explore this year’s theme, The Dual Burden: Mental Health in the Shadows of Chronic Illness.
Throughout the day, attendees engaged with presentations and discussions examining the intersection of mental health and chronic conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, HIV, and other pressing public health challenges affecting our communities.
We were honored to welcome keynote speaker Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, along with featured speakers Adrian Guzman, Cristina Contreras, and a talented group of student researchers whose work reflects the future of health equity leadership.
Thank you to every student, speaker, partner, volunteer, and attendee who made this year’s summit possible.
The work continues long after the event ends.
