Resilient Performance Physical Therapy

Resilient Performance Physical Therapy Sports Medicine / Physical Therapy, Performance Training, Education / Consulting Normal is not optimal. Functioning “normally” does not make one resilient.

The goal of traditional physical therapy is the restoration of “normal” function and the absence of pain. Often with adequate rest and no medical intervention, this criterion is easily met. Normative values in physical therapy are typically based on minimal standards of physical function, not always that which is necessary for you to achieve your goals. The standards for movement and fitness are t

rending in an alarmingly low direction. It is now normal, and often medically acceptable, to lack the ability to perform fundamental human movements, to be plagued by nagging injuries, and to be fragile when faced with physical stress. At Resilient, optimal is the norm for which we strive. The greatest void in sports medicine falls in the realm between acute rehabilitation and performance training. Rehabilitation and performance are commonly regarded as distinct entities and not as a fluid spectrum. Resilient recognizes this continuum and excels at bridging the gap between these two seemingly divergent endpoints. Each member of the Resilient team is a doctorally-educated physical therapist with experience in elite athletic development. High-end athletic performance is ultimately about the expression of speed, power, and fitness in a dynamic, unpredictable environment. This expression is contingent upon healthy joint function, biomechanical efficiency, and neuromuscular patterning. Optimal joint function is the foundation of the performance pyramid. Resilient’s method of evaluating and facilitating the integration of joint action throughout the body is its essence. Resilient recognizes the influence of all biological and psychological stresses on pain and performance. We treat orthopedic conditions with a client-centric model that empowers one through exercise-based behavioral modification. There is no void between acute rehabilitation and sport-specific training because our programs are based on systematic biomechanical, behavioral, and neurophysiological progressions.

We didn’t even know what we were working towards when we got started in middle school with Sal Garcia and many of his teammates soon after.

We’re so proud of the effort, dedication, and resilience put into the process to achieve this outcome. Most people don’t get to see the work—just the accolades—but we at Resilient Performance & PT and The ANNEX Sports Performance Center are privileged to support these athletes and see all the determination year over year.

Extremely proud to be a small part of their great stories. You never know where these stories lead. Congrats Delbarton Baseball and especially all the seniors for leading the way on and off the field. Good luck and get another ring next year.

Sectional Champs! 🏆

Big congratulations to and these Resilient athletes on an awesome accomplishment.

It’s been great watching these guys put in the time, stay consistent, and see it all come together this season.

As PTs, getting to see our athletes out there competing and enjoying moments like this is one of the best parts of the job.

Good luck in the next round! ⚾️

📈Physical Therapy isn’t just for when you’re injured. Top performers at all levels get the most out of how their body moves to perform their best and so should you.

⛹️We see a lot of baseball in our offices but know that this applies to every other athlete as well. ⛳️

First got the opportunity to work with in April 2019 before his freshman year of college thanks to and . Watching him play for the these last two seasons has been incredible and is a testament to his relentless determination, unquestionable work ethic, and unwavering commitment. Working with him has forced me to become a better therapist and coach, which is something I cannot thank Tyson enough for. Couldn’t be more proud of the person and player he has become. Couldn’t be more grateful for the trust he has continued to place in me for all these years. Can’t wait to see what’s still to come in his career! And stay tuned to see him in a book coming out later this year… 👀
