Little Flower Yoga and Mindfulness is a New York based organization dedicated to making the tools of yoga and mindfulness available to all children and teens. Our classes are rooted in youth development principles and address children’s holistic wellness needs in a joy filled environment. LFY provides tools that help all children come to school ready to learn, and give parents and teachers strateg

ies and support to reinforce these tools. The School Wellness Project, a program of LFY, currently serves over 700 children per week with in-school and after-school yoga classes, and reaches many more through our network of trained school staff and affiliate partners. We also offer a comprehensive, yoga alliance accredited Teacher Training certification for yoga instructors and practitioners interested in sharing yoga with children and teens. Created by an educator, our programs incorporate learning goals throughout every class, and our instructors take advantage of the many teachable moments that occur in each session. Little Flower Yoga challenges students to learn in new ways, make connections, and recognize their tremendous capacity to achieve. Everyday, we strive to provide tools that help all children come to school ready to learn, and give parents and teachers strategies and support to reinforce these tools. In May of 2009 LFY became a founding member of the Yoga Service Council, a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop a community of professional support in the field of yoga service. We are committed to sharing a skills based approach to yoga and mindfulness with all children, regardless of circumstance.

Who is answering your questions inside the Mentorship Circle when you join Foundations of Teaching Yoga and Mindfulness?

Meet Argos Gonzalez. He is a senior trainer and a cornerstone of our faculty, who has been part of the LFY family since 2013. If Trish is the heartbeat of our student experience, Argos is the bridge between deep academic research and the day-to-day reality of the classroom.

Argos isn’t just an expert in theory; he spent 13 years as a high school teacher in the Bronx. He knows what it’s like to create breathing room in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.

Why we love him:

Argos brings a unique blend of teaching experience and academic rigor. Outside of the classroom, his journey has seen him teaching education students at Hunter College, serving as a guiding teacher for organizations like Mindful Schools, and presenting at national conferences like those at the Omega Institute. But wherever he is, Argos is dedicated to the well-being of the educator as much as the student.

Inside our Mentorship Circle, Argos is your go-to expert for:

✨ Teen Support: Navigating the complex social and emotional needs of older students.
✨ Urban Education: Bringing evidence-based tools into complex high-pressure school environments.
✨ Educator Well-being: Helping teachers find their own anchor so they can show up sustainably for their students.
✨ Mindfulness in Higher Ed: Bridging the gap between academic theory and practical, daily classroom application.

In our 12-month Mentorship Circle, Argos is a steady, experienced hand to help you troubleshoot your most challenging classroom dynamics and find a path forward. And don't be fooled by his HS past - Argos is beloved by our younger students too!

Join Argos and our expert faculty to master the art of regulation that creates the space for learning. Our spring Foundations of Yoga and Mindfulness cohort starts March 16th!!

Need a 4-minute reset button for your classroom (or yourself) today?

This is a practice we call Own Your Power. It’s an invigorating breathwork sequence designed to help students move from feeling sluggish or overwhelmed to feeling centered and capable.

We originally recorded this series for GoNoodle, and it’s one of our favorite "Empower Tools" because it’s simple, effective, and requires zero prep.

How to use it:

- As a Transition: Use it when coming back from lunch or recess to gather focus.

- Before a Big Task: Use it to shake off the I can't do this jitters.

- For Yourself: Take 4 minutes to reclaim your own energy before your next task or class.

Teaching tools like this are most effective when you know why and when to use them.

In our Foundations of Yoga and Mindfulness training, we don't just give you a library of practices—we teach you how to read the energy of the room and choose the exact right tool to meet your students where they are.

We hope this 4 minute video is helpful, and if you'd like to explore more we'll pop the link into the first comment. Happy teaching!

Inspiration is great, but implementation is what changes lives.

Many educators and clinicians attend workshops and leave feeling inspired, with notebooks full of ideas. But when Monday morning arrives and they step into a dysregulated classroom or a high-intensity clinical session, that inspiration can often evaporate. The tools feel out of reach when faced with the daily reality of the work.

This is the implementation gap. It is the reason the Foundations of Yoga and Mindfulness training is built around long-term support. We are not just providing a 12-week certification; we are providing a full year of professional mentorship.

When you join this cohort of 30 participants, you receive:

- 12 weeks of evidence-based training.

- A full year of the LFY Mentorship Circle (a $485 value).

- Weekly expert Q&A sessions to troubleshoot real-world challenges in real-time.

- Rotating call times (morning, lunch, and evening) to fit a professional schedule.

The work of facilitation should not be done in a vacuum. Join a community of professionals dedicated to bridging the gap between theory and practice.

It’s 10:15 on a Monday morning.

The energy in the room is buzzing, the lesson plan is slipping, and the well-intentioned advice to "just take a breath" feels completely unrealistic.

We hear a version of this story from educators all the time. They care deeply, but when things get dysregulated, they don't have a clear way to respond without draining their own energy.

This is where the shift from "doing yoga" to effective and empowered facilitation begins.

Our Foundations of Yoga & Mindfulness cohort isn't just a 12-week course—it’s a full year of mentorship designed to help you support the nervous system (yours and theirs), and build resilient community, using a science-backed framework.

The Details:
