Yesterday, we worked together with senator John C. Liu, assembly member Ron Kim, and council member Sandra Ung to host our free prostate cancer screening event! Thanks to our incredible team of volunteers and community members, we were able to offer free screenings to anyone in need, regardless of their socioeconomic status. We were able to help identify a few participants who needed further follow-up and care for their symptoms. A huge shoutout to Drs. Chan and Mallett for generously volunteering their expertise in urology. And of course, we couldn't have done this without the dedication of all our amazing volunteers, who truly worked for the betterment of our community. Lastly, a special thank you goes out to Vonetta Williams for her leadership and hard work in organizing this successful program.

In honor of , we are proud to recognize Dr. Errol Mallett for his outstanding impact on the NYC community. For over 30 years, he has served as a urologist, providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive care to those in need. He is a proponent of fair and equitable access to healthcare services and is dedicated to eliminating disparities in health outcomes, particularly in the Black and Caribbean communities of his local area. Additionally, Dr. Mallett has been involved in numerous charitable initiatives throughout his career, and is responsible for launching Vanatge’s annual free Prostate Cancer Screening Programs.

Vantage Health is proud to partner with NY State Senator John Liu, Assemblymember Ron Kim and New York City Councilmember Sandra Ung today at a press conference to discuss our prostate cancer screening event that we are hosting together on October 1st at our Flushing, NY facility.

Every community should have access to proper health care regardless of background or immigration status. Vantage Health is committed to providing culturally appropriate cancer education and screening services to our immigrant communities.

An estimated 268,590 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in the US this year, making it the most common type of cancer in American men besides skin cancer. Thanks to early detection and treatment advances, it is typically highly treatable and the 5-year relative survival rate is 99%.
