Summary

God makes an everlasting covenant with His people, promising never to stop doing good for them. He will put the fear of Him in their hearts so they will never turn away from Him.
He declares that just as He brought disaster upon them, He will bring restoration and blessing with the same certainty and full commitment.
As a sign of this future hope, God commands Jeremiah to complete the purchase of a field in Anathoth — a symbolic act demonstrating that land, trade, and normal life will one day return to Judah, Benjamin, and the surrounding cities, even though the land is currently under Babylonian siege.
The closing line emphasizes divine guarantee: "for I will restore their fortunes."
