WAIT… a customer leaves $6.61 on a $33.06 bill — a full 20% tip — and the server writes on the receipt: “Learn to TIP. It’s not my job to serve you FOR FREE!!” ??
For free?? On a 20% tip??
I’m sorry, since when did leaving the standard amount become an insult?
This is exactly why people are getting fed up with tipping culture. Customers are told 20% is the benchmark, they leave 20%… and somehow still get shamed like they stiffed somebody.
Be serious.
Serving someone while receiving an extra 20% is not “working for free.” That is literally the opposite of free.
And this is where people start feeling manipulated. Because if a fair tip still gets you attitude, then apparently no amount is actually enough.
At that point the issue isn’t the customer.
It’s a tipping culture where the expectations keep moving and nobody can admit it.
So who’s wrong here?
