We want to help cultivate envrionments that know how to take care of their employees and employees know how to take care of themselves! In our field and many other helping professionals, exhaustion, burnout, and vicarious traumas are so very impactful and important to learn to mitgate. We can HELP!!

Our workshops are personalized to the needs of the agency/company. Be careful though, you might want to bring us on for ongoing support afterwards like everyone else!!

2024 was an amazing year for us at Peace'In'It Counseling. We met nearly EVERY SINGLE GOAL we listed for ourselves, personally and as a company, while staying diligent in our efforts to continue providing support to individuals, couples, families, and communities. Here are a few highlights we wanted to share as we shine in the light because we grind in the shadows!

1) Became the lead MH Consultant Agency for Head Start of CDR in Williamsburg, VA
2) Began supporting individuals in Washington D.C. in addition to serving more than 75 individuals across VA
3) Led more than 10 workshops & training day initiatives for non-profits and agencies looking to improve team dynamics, effective communication, trauma and resilience awareness, professionalism, and crisis management
4) Solidified our pro-bono individual services program for at-risk individuals
5) Increased our support for Residents in Counseling seeking licensure
6) Became SAFETALK trained and began leading workshops on college campuses
7) Joined the Upstart Team of a Wellness Boutique in Williamsburg

On the horizon...

- Additional Licensure to support individuals in the entire DMV
- Perinatal MH Certification - Hospitals & Moms battling postpartum, we're coming to help!
- Adding More Culturally Competent Clinicians to the TEAM

There's A LOT being offered this upcoming Friday and Saturday Sept. 27-28 at this year's "Entrusted Conference for kinship, foster, and adoptive families" in Yorktown, VA - Sponsored by ECHO - Family Care Partners. They envision a world asking us to "Imagine if no child ever needed foster care."

We are fortunate to have been asked to present with and to this community. Working with and supporting youth and families (and communities) of all kinds has become a pivotal component of Prell's work since his time as an intensive in-home clinician in the New River Valley.

Peace'In'It Counseling will be there all day Saturday, officially introducing ourselves to the community with our FIRST vendor's table. We'll be on-site to answer questions about MH & telehealth services. Any maybe, just maybe you'll join us for our presentation: "Hammering Down: Building a Resilience Toolbox".

We hope to offer you a workshop that will help you identify and implement tools for building resilience for you and your family. You’ll receive tangible actions you and your loved ones can take, discuss new paradigms to shift your cognitive thought processes, and explore how rapport building fosters healthier relationships and a sense of connectedness.

Through this year's conference, let's cultivate a space where we not only anchor ourselves in the beacon of hope but also allow ourselves to discover the strength and resilience that comes from being held by a nurturing community.

Community & Collaboration. Two words that have echoed in our minds over the past several years. We just wanted to take time to say thanks to our supporters and those who believed in the vision of two people who just want to HELP. And help in the ways we see best. Whether that's offering support and services in the community, offering workshops for agencies, and/or providing direct services to individuals, families, and couples in need, it requires a community presence and effective collaboration. We're HOLISTIC in this approach. It takes everyone to succeed.

A good friend of ours says, "Competition is dead." We believe this too and we just wanted to say,

August August August... You were good to us!!

It started off facilitating a debriefing addressing a staff issue for a company and simultaneously facilitating a workshop and open discussion on "Occupational Fight-v-Flight" in the workspace. That was our 4th engagement with the company and that's turned into a Consulting role, working with their clients parents, and working with their staff more regularly!!

We kept running and are now credentialed with AETNA insurance, joined the Taraji P. Henson - Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation or BLHF - ANNNNNND expanded the practice into WASHINGTON D.C.!!

All the while, we stayed true to ourselves and our values with respect to boundaries, wellness, and balance. We accomplished all of that this month while taking breaks from work during the 2.5 weeks of our kids' summer break.

Thanks to all of our supporters, referral sources, colleagues for chats and coffee, mentors and inspirations. We can be us because you're you!! 💯💯👊🏿🙌🏿👏🏿
