If you've been meaning to prepare but haven't gotten around to it yet...consider this your sign. The best time to get ready is before the next storm is on the radar.

Keep this checklist handy as you stock up, make a plan, and get your home storm-ready. A little preparation now can make a big difference later. 💙

🔵 Sign up for weather alerts on your phone, or secure a weather radio
🔵 Consider your dietary, medication, and mobility needs if you were to be displaced from your home
🔵 Develop an evacuation plan with a trusted friend or resources within the community, taking into account necessary accommodations for transportation, service animals, and medical equipment
🔵 Stock an emergency kit to include the basics such as flashlights, water, batteries, non-perishable foods, etc in the event you are able to shelter in place during the storm
🔵 Keep medications or medical devices in a portable container to allow for quick and handy access (keeping everything close by during the event will prevent you from having to navigate a potentially dark home during a power outage)
🔵 Keep all pertinent documents in one central location that can be quickly accessed in case an emergency evacuation is necessary (including insurance cards, a will, a power of attorney, and a list of emergency phone numbers and contact information for family, friends, and your doctors)
🔵 Share your detailed plans with a trusted friend, family member, or neighbor (also consider sharing a key to your home with this person and arrange for them to check on you before, during, and after the storm)

Are your muscles or joints talking back to you after your busy summer? Maybe you're feeling some knee pain from climbing up and down the pool ladder. Or perhaps your shoulders are a little stiff from hanging on during wild boat rides. Or I guess it's possible you could've thrown your back out while bungee jumping. 🤪

Whatever caused your sore, stiff, aching joints or muscles, there is one thing that can help with pain relief and stability...kinesiology tape! K-tape can be used for treating injuries and supporting weak areas just about anywhere on the body.
