Did you know that food insecurity is one of the most overlooked triggers for addiction relapse? When our basic needs go unmet, the path back to substances becomes a lot shorter.

Here at the Virtue Center, we're about holistic recovery, meaning we make sure people feel taken care of in every way, including something as simple as having a snack before a session.

Many of our clients come straight from school or work with nothing in their stomachs. That snack bowl in our lobby? It matters so much more than you'd think.

Right now, we're running low, and we'd love your help restocking it. That's right, it's time for our Snack Drive: Drive-Through Style! πŸ₯«

This Friday, pull up, drop off, and drive away knowing you made someone's recovery a little easier today.

Every Tuesday, The Virtue Center offers Free Gentle Yoga that's open to all bodies, all experience levels, and zero judgment. Mats and equipment provided, so all you have to bring is yourself.

πŸ… Year four of Trail to Recovery is a wrap, and you all absolutely delivered!

This year's Trail to Recovery 5K was really something special. Hundreds of people. One mission. You all laced up your shoes and showed up for recovery, and we're still feeling it! Every runner, every walker, every cheerleader on the sidelines: you're what this is all about πŸ’“

To all who showed up: thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, we know you never let us down.

And to everyone who couldn't make it this year, mark your calendars. Year four was incredible, so we can't wait to show you what year five looks like. United Way of Norman Trail to Recovery 5K Joseph Singleton Cleveland County OK United Way

πŸ™ Last week, we were truly honored to be the beneficiary of the Trail to Recovery 5K. This is an incredible contribution that will help us continue providing addiction recovery and mental health services to all here in Norman.

We're so extremely grateful to the Trail to Recovery board, sponsors, volunteers, and the over 380 participants who came to show their support of second chances, and made the run the success it was.

We also want to thank Judge Michael Tupper for his longtime support of recovery and for the kind words he shared about The Virtue Center. We appreciate his recognition of the importance of accessible treatment and just how much it can affect the success of healing for many and their families.

And a final thanks to The Norman Transcript and Reporter Paxson Haws for helping us share this wonderful experience and our partners to so many audiences.

We couldn't do this work without any of you and we know it πŸ’—

Meet Willow: The Virtue Center's Chief Comfort Officer! 🐾

In February 2022, our Vice President Board Member, Jessica Collett, walked into Norman Animal Welfare and walked out with someone special. A dog found wandering a street, now named after the very road that led her home.

She's H.A.L.O. certified, endlessly patient, and has a talent for knowing exactly when someone needs a little extra love.

She also has strong opinions about food... Hashbrowns? Obsessed. Vegetables? Hard pass. ❌πŸ₯¦

Willow's a reminder that healing can come in all shapes, sizes, and fur coats. Whether you're coming in for a session or just having a hard day, she's here and ready to offer a kiss and absolutely zero judgment.

Think you can sneak her a hashbrown? Come find out!
