David known to many as "Step" for his tremendous ability to make people move when they hear his music. David was born with music pulsing through his veins, and was introduced to playing the drums by his father David Givens Sr. After mastering the skills of playing
drums David gained more knowledge of other instruments and (without formal training) learned to play keyboard, guitar, and piano. David has quite an education in music. He was in band for the entire four years of high school and also has collegiate level music theory courses under his belt. He has been playing music for 20+ years and has been producing music for over 10 years. Step (as he is called in the music world) was thirteen years old when he got his first beat machine; he laughs and remembers it being Dr. Boss 7070. That machine was his introduction to becoming a producer, and since then he has been taking music lovers by storm. Step has remarkable experience in creating successful music with colorful, enticing, and entertaining content. He takes on a fearless approach with his music making and is not afraid to take a chance with every piece he creates. He also takes great pride in having a vast knowledge of different musical genres from all across the world in which his passion for music pushes him to fall deep into cross-genre productions. Throughout the course of his musical career Step has also become extremely knowledgeable of music sites, services, and digital products. He is highly efficient in social media and technology and has the ability to be part of a recording process from the beginning to the very end. That musical knowledge and efficiency allows him to be able to translate the complexity of musical terms into ones that are simple to understand. When asked how he would describe himself as a musician/producer David replies "I like to think that my style is very unique and doesn't fit any one particular genre of music." He adds " My hope is that when people hear my music they'll recognize it as one of my works; and they [will] receive as much listening pleasure
