I was a little spotty over the weekend. Made up for it by switching my 10km schedule to this AM. Might even do a swim after work.

Here are today’s late-summer sweat test numbers:
Started at 238.8 pounds empty (what?!? It’s been many years since I saw that #!!!) + 1.75 lbs. water = 240.5 pounds…after 6.4 miles =235.2 pounds. Total sweat loss of 5.3 pounds/10 km =3.5/hr.
78-79 degrees.

Same as before. I was really hoping I’d be less, that with the weight loss I’d be more efficient at heat transfer. Maybe that is my max sweat rate. Either way, I do feel a slight improvement in my joint pain.

Hope you got to see this AM’s meteor event. I saw 5 complete and 5 partial meteorites on my 1st 1/2 leg. I had to spend too much of my time looking in front of me or else who knows how many I could have seen.

I love the comments. Repeat after me Sean: No one cares you ran a race.

Had a nice AM run yesterday. Besides the usual Star Link satellites (eh) I finally got back to seeing meteorites (2 actually) on my run. PM weights. Usual ho-hum twice a days still grinding away during these summer doldrums.

I’ll definitely do a sweat test tomorrow AM to see if I’m getting more efficient as I am now 15 pounds lighter since I began this.

Yeah…in the history of me doing ANYTHING athletic: not a single person ever gave a s**t! You are all on your own!

Disaster averted…kind of…

I was planning on doing an AM back-to-back double workout EXCEPT I could not find my car keys. For like an hour. Yep. My future is so fu***ng bright.

But, I found them just in time to get a mile swim in. And again, riding that hormonal roller coaster I am on this week, I broke my time for the 3rd time this week! Sub-45 minute mile.

Tomorrow I am going to start sneaking my Saturday runs up (in anticipation of 1/2 marathon training officially starting September). 7 miles then 8 next Saturday.

Everyone, send me your distance positive energy as I try my best not to break down and cry during my run tomorrow. After the run…it’s off to UCF.

A little change in topic today everyone : Moving day of sorts:
2 years ago I rescued these plants from Clearance racks. They were all no bigger than my fist, barely able to be called plants. I had a plan for them. And little by little they started showing signs of life and now are ready for their next adventure: to accompany my daughter at her UCF apartment. Today I say a very sad goodbye to my green little buddies. I can only hope on occasion my daughter will look at them and be reminded of her father’s love (and pride).

I debated the Kubler-Ross stages of grief with my Psych Major daughter some today. I am now solidly in the Anger phase. This came out of nowhere: I used that Anger to shockingly cut today’s mile swim by 6 minutes off normal…and this was done on a whim after an upper body gym session. I just felt more intense today. Two days in a row of back-to-back workouts with mile swims, both new to me…tomorrow I’m going to return to a more traditional 10 km in the AM, gym session after work.

I started peeking ahead at more Fall/Winter races…getting time to start booking a few more! Keep hope alive everyone…just a few more weeks until August is gone (seriously, what actual good comes out of August? The worst month of the year).
