If you’d panic and throw a blanket over your b***s when they knock, reschedule!!

In those early weeks, your baby may be feeding 8, 10, 12+ times a day. Your b***s are out constantly. You’re bleeding and healing.

You might still be wearing mesh underwear and trying to remember the last time you drank a glass of water.

The people who belong in your postpartum space are the people who make you feel comfortable being exactly where you are—not the people who make you feel like you need to get dressed, clean the house, entertain, or apologize for feeding your baby.

If having someone over means you’ll spend the entire visit wondering where to nurse, covering up, or feeling self-conscious, they can wait.

Postpartum isn’t about who wants to meet the baby. It’s about who helps you feel safe enough to recover while you do.

thats the guest list.

✨ Testimonial Tuesday ✨

These words are from a family I had the privilege of supporting as they welcomed their second baby into the world.

From our first meeting, we clicked, and it was such a pleasure to support them through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum!!

Thank you for the trust, the laughs, and the energetic exchange along the way. ✨😌

Getting invited into such a transformative season of someone’s life is never something I take lightly.

And y’all make some damn cute babies!! 🥳

Xoxo,

YES doulas make an impact in all birth settings. AND all settings impact doulas!!

Good thing there’s all sorts of places for you to birth 😉

Im not at a place where I’d only attend home births, but I most definitely have learned how to set boundaries to keep myself in doula work long term. You are not a ‘bad’ doula for protecting your energy and ability to show up fully for families. Whatever that looks like in your practice.

I’m still supporting (certain 😉) hospital births, AND I dooo love me a juicy home birth.

Happy International Home Birth Day! ✨ So thankful for the midwives and Birthworkers who keep this option alive for so many families.

✨ Testimonial Tuesdays ✨

These words are from a powerful, and beautiful February birth by an incredible Mother.

Thank you for trusting me to support you this time around. The devotion and strength you poured into your labor was a blessing to witness!

One of the most supportive things you can do in labor is stop waiting for the birthing person to tell you what they need every moment.

Labor takes people deeply into their body, and constantly having to answer questions or direct support can feel surprisingly overwhelming.

The best support often comes from simply paying attention, staying connected, and stepping in with care before they even have to ask. 🤍

If you are needing extra hands and support to help you prep for birth, let’s talk.

One of the things I love most about doula work is the quietness that comes after birth.

The room softens a little. Everyone finally takes a breath. Baby is here, but there is still so much care happening in those first few hours — helping parents settle in, protecting the golden hour, answering questions, grabbing water, ordering food, supporting the first feed, taking photos they’ll look back on forever.

I think people sometimes imagine doula support ending the second baby arrives, but some of the most tender moments happen after birth.

And I never want anyone I work with to feel forgotten in the middle of all the excitement surrounding babies arrival. ✨

I think sometimes in this work people expect doulas to exist as only one thing.
Just birth. Just education. Just support.

But the truth is… every version of who I’ve been shapes how I show up in this work.

The woman who has navigated her own relationship with hormones, pain, healing & learning to trust her body.

The mother who knows firsthand how breathtaking and unraveling motherhood can feel all at once.

The free spirit who spent years craving connection, depth, adventure & meaning.

The person still actively healing, growing, questioning, softening & becoming.

All of that walks into the birth room with me.

Not to center myself in someone else’s experience — but because I think being deeply human is what allows me to hold others so fully in theirs.

I don’t believe support has to feel clinical to be professional.

I don’t believe strength has to feel cold.

I don’t believe mothers need perfect people beside them.

I think they need people who can sit in the magic, the mess, the intensity, the unknown, the humor, the grief, the surrender, the transformation… and not look away.

So yes, I’m a doula.
But I’m also all the little pieces of life that got me here. ✨
