Please join us in congratulating our most recent vision therapy graduate, Emma!!
She shares in her own words how vision therapy has changed her life so she no longer has to worker harder than her peers now that her functional vision diagnoses have been eliminated.

Could your child benefit from a closer look at their primitive reflexes?

We’re excited to offer a limited number of Saturday morning Primitive Reflex Screening appointments at VLPS in Northville!

These reflexes are so important, we include screening and integration in all of our vision therapy programs.

For just $50, families will receive a screening of selected primitive reflex patterns, personalized education, and practical instruction on activities they can do at home to integrate retained primitive reflexes and support their child’s development.

Follow ups can be scheduled when you would like us to see how retained primitive reflex integration is going at home, if it is time to move to the next step of integration or move to the next retained primitive reflex. These visits can be in-person at our office, or virtual.

Do your eyes struggle to work together up close?

Convergence Insufficiency is one of the most common terms people hear related to Vision Therapy and it one of the most common diagnoses we treat!

This quick screening helps us assess how well the eyes can converge together and maintain single, comfortable vision at near.

People with CI may experience symptoms such as:
• Losing their place while reading
• Words moving, going double or becoming blurry
• Headaches or eyestrain
• Difficulty sustaining attention with near work
• Avoiding or struggling with reading
• Being misdiagnosed as ADD or dyslexic

Not every patient with these symptoms has Convergence Insufficiency!
Other diagnoses, including Convergence Excess (CE) can cause some similar symptoms, but involves an opposite pattern of binocular vision dysfunction. That's why identifying the specific diagnosis matters.

If you or your child is struggling with reading, near work, headaches, or visual fatigue, don't just assume it's an attention or learning problem. The visual system may be a big part of the picture, and vision therapy most often completely cures CI.

Today was a really special day!

We officially celebrated the opening of Vision Learning & Performance Specialists (VLPS) with our ribbon cutting!

I'm incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported, encouraged, referred, collaborated, and believed in this vision along the way.

Thank you to the Northville community and the Northville Chamber of Commerce for celebrating this milestone with us, and to everyone who came out to share the day with us. 🎀✂️ We hope this helps us spread awareness of vision dysfunctions and vision therapy so more people are able to get the help they need.

We are bringing out extensive experience to a brand new chapter. We can't wait to continue helping more people see, learn, function and perform at their very best.

Vertigo may not be "all in your head..."

So many of our adult patients struggle for years, see a long list of providers (including optometrists, ophthalmologists, vestibular therapists, PT, OT), and end up being told it’s anxiety… or that it’s “all in your head.”

Until we look at the visual-vestibular system.

Dizziness, motion sensitivity, visual discomfort, headaches, imbalance, nausea, and feeling “off” can sometimes be connected to the way your eyes and brain are processing movement and visual information.

Our Neuro Rehab and visual-vestibular vision therapy programs are designed to identify and address these underlying visual skills, not just teach you to live with the symptoms.
