We encourage everyone to leverage resources available to help our caregivers.

Grieving someone who is still here is real. It shows up in the moments you least expect, and it can be one of the loneliest parts of a caregiving journey.

The new episode of The Blue Hug Journal is for every caregiver who has felt that grief and wondered if they were allowed to.

You are.

💙 Listen now and share with someone who needs to hear this.

You are not doing this alone.
This is The Blue Hug.

YOU ARE ENOUGH.

We absolutely loved the saying on an attendees' shirt at the recent Abilities Expo in Chicago. And why do we love it so much?

Jaclyn Sullivan, M.H.S., CCC-SLP spotted a woman with her partner's TERRIBLE walker situation. Yup. Jackie saw this family from another area in the expo and told them to visit her.

What happened? They got themselves a NEW Versa Mobility walker footing! No more tracking nasty dirt from outside and protecting your floors!

A 12 year old violinist performed a televised solo for a children's hospital fundraiser this year. Few in the audience would have noticed the small silicone cuff helping her hold the bow, or known that she survived a stroke at age 10 and spent years relearning the instrument she loves.

Tiana's story opens a conversation the adaptive equipment space needs more of. So much of the focus goes to daily living essentials, and rightly so. But adaptive tools also exist for the meaningful: the music, the hobbies, and the passions that remind a person they are still fully themselves.

The latest from Everyday Adaptive explores what it means when adaptive living brings someone back to what they love.

A high school senior with cerebral palsy had just been accepted into college. New campus, new friends, a new chapter. But one concern was holding him back: for 18 years, his mom had helped him put on his AFOs and shoes each morning. On his own, it took close to an hour.

His question to his occupational therapist was simple and powerful. "How can I do this more quickly and independently? I can't be late for class."

The latest from Everyday Adaptive looks at one of the least discussed realities of adaptive living: equipment needs change at life's transition points.

The tools that work when help is nearby deserve a fresh look when independence becomes the whole point. Link in the comments.

Most caregivers can handle the logistics. Medications, appointments, insurance calls. But bathing is where people stop cold, and it is almost never about hygiene.

The latest Everyday Adaptive is the conversation most people never have about the moment that is hardest for everyone in the room. Read it, listen to it, or watch it on YouTube.
