AHS provider Dr. Mychi Nguyen highlighted Asian Health Services’ “Healthy Smiles, Healthy Hearts” initiative and the growing importance of integrating oral and medical health at the Integrated Care Summit 2026: Bridging the Gaps to Whole-Person Care.

The initiative focuses on the strong connection between oral health, elevated blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease, and how coordinated care can improve outcomes across the whole body.

The launch of AHS Dental came more than 20 years ago, when an AHS Patient shared during a patient town hall: “We cannot have good health if we don't have good teeth.”.

AHS sends a heartfelt thank you to the CA Assembly and Senate for including $30 million for the Stop the Hate program in the 2026 CA budget! The Stop the Hate program funds AHS’ Community Healing Unit, which provides comprehensive healing support to hundreds of survivors of hate and violence.

We applaud the leadership of Senator John Laird and Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel during the budget process. We also appreciate legislative champions including Assemblymember Mike Fong, Assemblymember Corey Jackson, Assemblymember Stephanie Nguyen, Assemblymember Alex Lee, and Speaker Robert Rivas, as well as Senator Monique Limón, Senator Aisha Wahab, and Senator Christopher Cabaldon, and the entire AAPI Legislative Caucus, for your leadership in taking a stand against hate in CA.
