Congratulations to the graduates of the Basic Field Training Officer (FTO) Course hosted by Northern Light Medical Transport in Bangor, Maine!

Participants from Northern Light Medical Transport & Emergency Care, Delta Ambulance, and Maine EMS came together to strengthen their field training and leadership skills, investing in the development of future EMS professionals.

Congratulations to Dr. Lewis on his new position!

Dr. Lewis was a paramedic with Delta Ambulance for several years before moving on to medical school and he's well known as a down-to-earth, extremely knowledgeable healthcare provider. We're all very lucky to have him in this new role. Proud of you, sir!

Delta was fortunate to have Austin join us last semester as a grant-writing intern. During his time with us, Austin applied for several grants and taught us so much throughout the process.

Thanks to his hard work, one of those grants was awarded, and we are excited to share that Delta has received four pet oxygen mask kits to help furry friends in need.

Delta often responds to fire scenes alongside our local fire departments, and these kits will allow our crews to better assist pets affected by smoke or other fire-related emergencies.

The pet oxygen mask kits are now located on all of our fly cars and will be available when needed during emergency responses involving pets.

We are grateful for Austin’s dedication and for this opportunity to better serve our community, including its four-legged family members.

The Office of State Fire Marshal is saddened to learn of the passing of 76-year-old Wayne Woodbury on Sunday morning June 14, 2026 at Maine Medical Center in Portland. Searsmont Assistant Fire Chief Wayne Woodbury was among the many firefighters and emergency responders who responded to the May 15, 2026, fire at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont.

The Office of State Fire Marshal extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the members of the Searsmont Fire Department during this difficult time. The investigation into the Robbins Lumber fire remains ongoing.

Paramedic/Chaplain Bacon and family were there to proudly support their daughter, Officer Bacon, as she was recognized for starting CPR and using an AED to help save a life. That is something truly special. Officer Bacon’s quick actions, courage, and training made a difference when it mattered most.
