What if one of the most powerful ways to support your child’s development isn’t another therapy, app, or activity?

It’s play.

Real, imaginative, unstructured play.

When kids build forts, create stories, solve problems, and explore the world around them, they’re doing far more than “just playing.” They’re strengthening creativity, decision-making, confidence, communication, and the foundational brain pathways that support learning and development.

Yes, it can be frustrating at first.

They may get bored. They may ask you to entertain them. They may struggle to come up with ideas.

But that’s where growth happens.

Every adventure they create, every problem they solve, and every decision they make is helping build skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives.

For many neurodivergent children, these experiences can be especially valuable as they practice flexibility, creativity, communication, and confidence in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

✨ Growth doesn’t always happen at a desk. Sometimes it happens in a backyard, a blanket fort, or an imaginary castle.

Most parents think regulation has to come from another therapy session.
But sometimes the most powerful thing you can give a neurodivergent child… is space to play.

Adventure play challenges coordination, imagination, problem-solving, balance, creativity, and motor planning — all at the same time.

A stick becomes a sword.
A yard becomes an obstacle course.
A ball becomes a mission.

That kind of open-ended play forces the brain to create, adapt, and organize instead of just following instructions.

And for kids struggling with regulation, attention, sensory processing, or right-brain activation… that matters more than most people realize.

This is why we’re always telling parents:
You do not need to turn your home into a therapy clinic.

Sometimes the nervous system grows best through movement, imagination, and fun.

Less pressure.
More play.
More brain activation.
More regulation.

“Her feet are turning in… is that normal?”

This is the stuff most parents get told to “wait and see” about.

But before walking issues show up, the body usually gives clues first:
• one leg tucked while crawling
• dragging a leg
• feet turning in or out
• asymmetrical movement patterns

A lot of times, parents notice something feels off long before anyone takes them seriously.

That’s why we pay attention early — because movement patterns matter, especially during development.

The nervous system, hips, pelvis, and sacrum all work together. When there’s imbalance, compensation patterns can start showing up in the way babies crawl, sit, stand, and eventually walk.

Not every child with pigeon toes has a major issue.
But ignoring patterns and hoping they disappear isn’t a strategy either.

The earlier you pay attention, the more opportunity the body has to develop well.

If you’ve been noticing things like toe walking, pigeon toes, sensory struggles, tension, poor sleep, meltdowns, or delays… don’t ignore your gut.

POV: the doctors leave the girls alone for 5 minutes and suddenly there’s a full vitamin D station in the office ☀️😂

“Don’t get too close without eye protection.”
“I can’t even see you right now.”
“Is this a bug zapper?”

This place is one long group chat in real life.

In regulated kids, we talk a lot about realistic ways to support neurodivergent kids at home including nutrition.

We love incorporating fresh milled flour into things kids already enjoy like pancakes, muffins, waffles, cookies, and bread because it can be an easy way to add more nutrients into everyday foods.

And no we’re not chasing perfection over here.

We’re focused on small, sustainable changes that support the nervous system and make daily life feel more doable for families.

A lot of parents notice the behaviors.

Fewer notice the posture.

Difficulty sitting upright, low muscle tone, clumsiness, poor coordination, and even the way a child moves through space can all be connected to how the brain and nervous system are developing and communicating.

In this clip, Dr. Rob explains the connection between right-brain development, muscle tone, and why some children can appear both “floppy” and tense at the same time.

When we understand the nervous system, we start seeing behavior and development through a completely different lens.

💡 The goal isn’t to chase symptoms. It’s to understand what’s driving them.

A lot of parents are told baby containers are “helpful.”
But what happens when babies spend hours in positions their bodies were never designed for?

When babies aren’t moving naturally…
when they’re constantly slouched in seats, jumpers, swings, or containers…
their curves don’t develop the way they’re supposed to.

And movement matters more than most people realize.

Movement builds the brain.
Movement helps develop posture, coordination, regulation, and nervous system function.
A lack of movement doesn’t just affect muscles it can affect development.

The body was designed to move.
To crawl.
To roll.
To explore.
Not to stay confined all day.

That’s why we look deeper at things like posture, movement patterns, spinal stress, and nervous system function in kids.

Because sometimes the little everyday habits no one talks about…
can create bigger challenges later.

If your child struggles with regulation, posture, tension, coordination, or developmental delays, it may be worth looking at the nervous system first.

Did your child arrive via C-section?

Most parents are told a C-section is the safer option when needed.

What many parents are not told is that the physical forces involved in birth can still place significant stress on a baby’s neck, upper spine, and nervous system.

That’s why one of the first things we ask when evaluating a child is:

➡️ What happened during pregnancy?
➡️ How was labor and delivery?
➡️ Was there a C-section, induction, forceps, vacuum extraction, or prolonged labor?

We’re not looking for problems.

We’re looking for clues.

Because when a child’s nervous system has been under stress from the very beginning, it can influence how they adapt, grow, regulate, sleep, digest, and develop.

The birth story matters.

And understanding it helps us better understand the child sitting in front of us. Comment “RESET” if you’d like more information about how we can help support your child’s nervous system.

Is Autism Genetic? 🤔

This is one of the most common questions parents ask.

The answer isn’t as simple as yes or no.

While genetics can play a role, genes are not the whole story. Environment, stress, development, pregnancy, birth experiences, and nervous system function all influence how a child grows, adapts, and expresses their potential.

In this clip, we’re sharing the first 20 minutes of a deeper conversation where we unpack what the research actually says, common misconceptions, and why focusing only on genetics can leave families feeling stuck.

Because if genetics were the entire story, there would be nothing you could do.

And that’s simply not what we see.
