Lately I’ve been noticing something.

People will spend years decorating a cage.

New language.
New places.
New labels.
New spiritual practices.
New explanations.
New relationships.

Same cage.

And because the cage is prettier now, or they convince themselves they’re free.

I know because I’ve done it.

I’ve called fear intuition.
I’ve called avoidance peace.
I’ve called exhaustion purpose.
I’ve called waiting “being in alignment.”

Sometimes I wasn’t regulating my nervous system.

Sometimes I was negotiating with my own life.

Trying to find a way forward that didn’t require risk, grief, change, rejection, accountability, or courage.

Spoiler alert: it doesn’t exist.

I’m not broken. None of us are. W

We’re women standing at the edge of a version of herself she can already see, but haven’t fully claimed.

Not because they don’t know.

Because becoming her costs something.
It costs the ego, the story, the excuse, the comfort….the identity.

I used to think healing was about fixing myself.

Now I think it’s about remembering myself. Being me again.

The older I get, the more I realize I’ve been shaped by every conversation, every friendship, every heartbreak, every community, every person willing to show up authentically.

What a gift it is to witness people becoming themselves.
