Say his name.

He was more than the way he died. He was my son, my heart, and my reason to keep fighting. Every time his name is spoken, his memory lives on a little longer.

When I learned that families will stand together in Times Square and say our angels' names out loud, it brought tears to my eyes. Our children deserve to be remembered. Their stories deserve to be heard.

So today, and every day, I'll keep saying my son's name.

Days like today hit a little harder. I can't help but imagine you here, Evyn Andrew—laughing, racing up the slide, splashing everyone, and making memories with your nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters. You would've been right in the middle of all the fun. It just doesn't feel the same without you.

Tonight, my mama heart is thinking about tomorrow.

Tomorrow would have been my son Evyn's 22nd birthday. He'll forever be 21, but tomorrow we celebrate every year, every memory, every laugh, and every life he touched.

Before I go to bed, I have one birthday wish.

If Evyn ever made you laugh, checked on you, worked with you, called you just to see how you were doing, gave you the shirt off his back, or made a difference in your life, would you leave a memory, a story, a photo, or a video in the comments?

I want to wake up tomorrow and spend his birthday reading about the young man I was blessed to call my son through your eyes.

Tell me what made Evyn... Evyn.

Let's celebrate his big heart, his contagious smile, his love for his brothers and sisters, his pride in becoming a truck driver, and the way he made people feel seen.

Tomorrow isn't just about missing him. It's about celebrating the life he lived.

Happy 16th Birthday, Eli. 🎉❤️
Today you turn 16, and I couldn't be more proud of the young man you are becoming. You have a heart full of kindness, strength, and loyalty, and watching you grow has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
I know birthdays look a little different now. There is someone missing from every celebration, every milestone, and every family picture. You and Evyn weren't just brothers—you were best friends. The bond you shared was something special, and I know how deeply you miss him.
As we celebrate you today, I know your brother would be right beside you, probably giving you a hard time, making you laugh, and reminding you how much he loved you. That love didn't leave when he did. It lives on in your memories, your stories, and the person you've become.

Mental Health Awareness Month is almost over… but the conversations shouldn’t end here.
Some people are fighting battles you can’t see behind the smiles, the jokes, the “I’m fine,” and the silence.
My son Evyn was one of them. He loved big, laughed loudly, and carried more than most people ever knew.
If you’re struggling, please don’t suffer alone.
And if someone you love is struggling… keep showing up. Keep checking in. Keep loving them through it.
In honor of Evyn, I’ll keep using my voice for the ones still fighting and for the ones we lost too soon. 💚
