Happy National Latino Physician Day!

As a Latina dermatologist, I’m here to tell you:

1. Abuelita may be right- Vick’s v***r rub can actually help toe nail fungus!

2. Those tight flamenco hair buns may actually be causing traction alopecia.

3. 3 cups a day of Spearmint tea can help acne.

4. Chamomile tea has anti itching properties and can lower oxidative stress on cells (making neoplasms slow their grow).

5. Aloe Vera can help *infected* wounds but use sparingly because can cause irritation if overused (see all the time in clinic!).

6. Green tea has some anti acne properties.

7. Although honey has great curing benefits, propolis in honey is a common contact allergen I see in clinic so be aware if you get irritated with Burt’s bees or other similar products

8. Keep wearing those hoop earrings- I can fix those ear lobes ;)

In true mom/ business owner/ wife busy fashion, I forgot yesterday was Melanoma Monday. Actually, that’s not true. This is my fractional ablative laser procedure with green toning. It works on long term collagen rejuvenation and even makes new collagen!
