We enjoyed talking with City Care today and getting a better understanding of their vision.
They have EMERGENCY BEDS, temporary to permanent housing. Learning that over 1,300 evictions happen every month in JUST Oklahoma County is alarming. This tells you families and elderly are becoming homeless.
City Care has a strong emphasis on restoring dignity and hope through complete support in all aspects of becoming independent to living out their life due to disability or mental illness.

Today, I had the opportunity to visit City Care and learn more about the work they are doing to serve some of our most vulnerable neighbors.
I was especially impressed by their approach to homelessness—not simply providing a safe place to sleep, but working to address the barriers that keep people from finding stability and permanent housing.
One of the most interesting parts of our visit was learning about City Care’s new Medical Respite Center, which will provide a place for people experiencing homelessness to recover after being discharged from the hospital when they are not yet well enough to return to the street or a traditional shelter. It fills a very real gap in our community while helping people get connected with the services and housing support they need.
We had a great conversation about the challenges they see every day, the people they serve, and what it takes to create lasting solutions.
