Everyone on the spiritual journey is so quick to hand over everything to the Universe, as if the Universe is the one creating everything, while out here saying, “I am a creator of my own reality.” However, you have free will. Your life is a combination of both fate and free will.

In the beginning of your journey, trusting the Universe by handing everything over is part of the process. Then, there comes a time when you realize you actually have to take accountability for the choices you made, because you put yourself on the timeline you are existing in based on those choices.

It was not divine timing. You made poor choices with your free will, so now you are experiencing the consequences of your actions. Part of the divine process is forgiving yourself and learning from those mistakes so that you are not repeating them.

When you hand everything over to the Universe and are unable to take accountability for the choices you have made, you do yourself a disservice in the development of the life you desire.

It is easier to say, “Well, it is because it was supposed to be that way,” than to say, “I fu**ed up, but now I get to learn.”

I’m not an “everybody gets a trophy” kind of coach. I was born in the ‘80s and raised in the ‘90s.
Participation without effort doesn’t get you a trophy around here. It might get you a pat on the back, if that’s what you’re seeking.

But transformation happens for the people who want it! For the people who do the thing even when they’re scared.

Every single woman I’ve ever coached has been that person, and that’s why they seek my services: because they want it bad enough to do the hard work that other people look past.

They want it bad enough to explore the shadows of their psyche in ways other people shy away from.
They want it bad enough to cry, feel the pain of their experiences, and move through it rather than escape it.

And their result is major life transformation. My clients reach their goals not only because I am supporting them with my modalities, my experience, and my abilities, but because they want it, and with my support, it’s easier for them to go after it.

When the human psyche encounters something confusing that triggers fear or pain, our first instinct is often to point fingers and assign blame. We naturally resist the unknown. Existing without answers feels unbearable.

This exact fear is why the word “witch” carries the heavy, negative association it holds today.

Spiritual psychosis is real, and one of the main reasons people experience it is because of a high stress response. As Witches, it is our responsibility to tend to our nervous systems on the regular.

Our nervous system wellness is a high priority in our practice.

In my Academy of Witchcraft, I’m currently uploading a series of somatic practices to provide my students with methods to prioritize nervous system healing and wellness.

This is a number one priority in my personal practice, in my coaching practice, and as a teacher and guide.

Your nervous system is your antenna. It is also the wiring to everything in your body. As a Witch, you must prioritize your nervous system health.

Being a Witch who was not raised by elders from a young age can feel lonely, and you may sometimes feel lost or full of shame because you don’t know better and you’re learning on your own.

This is why I teach, for those who are seeking to learn more.

Now, this will be brief because this subject could be covered over years, but I will provide you with more than enough to feel rooted and grounded in understanding the herstory of your practices.

If you’re reading this, you are most likely breaking generational patterns and habits; sometimes, your elders are still representing those very patterns and habits that you’re breaking. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t honor or respect them. It means you should remember that they’re human. Of course, taking into account if there’s any abuse, that is a whole separate situation.

In our different seasons of life, we’re going to show up in those spaces with our elders from different lenses of perspective. This is especially true when we’re feeling really vulnerable and in a stage of being in the “womb” or the “incubator,” where you feel a lot of pressure and you’re creating more safety in your body. It may feel more difficult to be in the presence of those patterns that you’re breaking, and that’s okay. You’ll find ways to sit with your elders in a way that feels safe for you while also respecting them.

There will also be a season when you remember how human you are and how human your elders are, and you get to exist in the beauty of that humanness.

Whatever season you’re in, begin to acknowledge the cues that differentiate the seasons for you so that you know how to show up in a way that honors both who you are and them.
