Schroth Boss I help teens and adults with scoliosis stop the progression of their curve & get stronger!💪

🚨YOUR SCOLIOSIS DOES NOT NEED TO BE “BEAT INTO SUBMISSION.”🚨

Stretch the tight side.
Fix your vertebrae that’s “out”.
Realign the hips.
Massage it. Manipulate it. Needle it. Laser it.

Notice what all of these have in common? They’re PASSIVE.

You’re trying to force or beat your curve into being straighter instead of teaching your body what to actively do differently.

Scoliosis treatment can be a whole lot more specific than that.

With Schroth-based care, we’re looking at the 3D shape of YOUR curve and using strategies such as spinal elongation and derotation, curve-specific postural corrections, 3D breathing, active muscle retraining, stability, and progressive loading.

Because the goal isn’t to bully your body into looking “straight.”

It’s to teach your body how to move, breathe, stabilize, and get stronger with the spine you actually have.

And yes….sleep, nutrition, recovery, and getting strong belong in the conversation too. 👏

Scoliosis treatment deserves more than a random collection of things someone once learned in PT school.

Save this for your next “have you tried stretching?” conversation. 😅

Put 6 women with scoliosis in a room together and suddenly nobody has to explain themselves. 🥹

Nobody has to explain why their back feels that way.
Why one side feels different than the other.
Why breathing into one specific area is somehow a whole EVENT. 😂
Why they have 937 questions about their curve.

They just… get it.

And THAT was one of my favorite parts of our Women’s Wellness Retreat.

Yes, we got nerdy about Schroth. 🤓
We talked curve patterns, expansion breathing, anatomy, skin folds, equipment, corrections, other conditions, and the WHY behind what we do.

But we also laughed. Connected. Asked questions. Shared experiences. And created a space where six women could learn more about the bodies they live in every single day.

Because here’s the thing:

Scoliosis information should not be some secret little club you need the right password to get into.

You deserve to understand your curve.
You deserve resources.
You deserve to ask questions.
You deserve answers that actually make sense.

That’s a huge part of why Schroth Boss exists. 💚

So yep… we’re gonna keep talking about it.

Loudly. 😉

Save this post. Send it to your scoliosis bestie. And follow Dr. Katie Blanchard- Scoliosis Exercise | Schroth PT for more scoliosis + Schroth education, help, and answers.

We don’t gatekeep Schroth info around here.👏

6 women with scoliosis. From across the U.S. to our clinic in Chicago. ❤️

They came to learn Schroth exercises customized to their unique curves and made a weekend of it with an architecture tour, amazing dinners, and a killer spa experience.

But as we head into our final day, it’s clear this weekend has become about so much more.

Community. Support. Accountability. And being surrounded by women who truly get the physical and mental load of living with scoliosis.

Yes, it’s about the exercises. But it’s also about finding your people and knowing you don’t have to do scoliosis alone. ❤️

And we’re not quite done yet!

Like + save this post, and share it with a woman with scoliosis who would benefit from our next Schroth Method Women’s Wellness Retreat. 🫶

Scoliosis has a direction of progression. Your exercises should have a direction, too👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Curve-specific Schroth exercises use intentional positioning and muscle contraction to create forces that oppose your curve’s progression pattern.

Not random exercises. Specific exercises for YOUR curve. 💪

Your scoliosis posture isn’t getting rebuilt by someone yelling “stand up straighter.” 😂

When we talk about improving alignment with scoliosis, we’re talking about teaching YOUR body how to find a different position against gravity…and then practicing the heck out of it until it starts to feel less foreign.

And here’s where it gets VERY specific.⬇️⬇️⬇️

Your hip shift might need to go one direction while someone else’s needs to go another.

You might need more pressure through one heel.

Your ribcage may need to stack differently over your pelvis.

Your shoulder position, weight distribution, breathing, and corrections all depend on what YOUR curve is doing.

Which is exactly why watching a random Schroth exercise on YouTube or Instagram and copying it isn’t the same thing as learning how to correct YOUR scoliosis.

Because I can show you an exercise all day long…

But if you don’t know where YOUR hips should be, where YOUR weight should go, what YOUR ribcage should be doing, and what YOU should actually be feeling, you’re missing a pretty important piece of the puzzle. 😬

That’s where we come in.

We customize Schroth exercises and postural corrections to YOUR specific curve, YOUR body, and YOUR goals so you can actually understand the concepts behind what you’re doing instead of blindly following exercises and hoping for the best.

Because the goal isn’t just to get really freaking good at doing Schroth exercises.

The goal is to learn how to use these concepts in your REAL life.

When you’re standing. Walking. Working. Lifting. Exercising.

And eventually, getting back to the activities you’ve been avoiding or missing out on because of your scoliosis. 💛

If you’re READY to invest in yourself, learn the concepts that can create meaningful, long-term change in how you manage your scoliosis, and work toward getting back to the things you actually WANT to be doing…

Nothing good happens when you start Googling “scoliosis spinal fusion” at 12:47 AM. 😵‍💫

And yet… I KNOW some of you moms are doing exactly that.

Your child gets diagnosed with scoliosis and suddenly you’re expected to become an expert in Cobb angles, progression, bracing, exercises, growth, AND surgery while simultaneously trying not to freak your kid out.

Like… cool cool cool. No pressure. 🫠

So you do what moms do.

You research.

You join the Facebook groups. You read other parents’ stories. You screenshot things you want to ask the doctor. You Google one question that turns into 14 more questions.

And underneath ALL of that research is usually one really freaking scary thought:

“What if I make the wrong decision for my child?”

Because this isn’t choosing the wrong soccer team or summer camp.

This is your CHILD’S SPINE.

Of course you want to get it right.

But you also shouldn’t have to piece together your child’s scoliosis plan from Google, Reddit, Facebook groups, and conflicting advice from people who don’t actually know your child.

You deserve someone who can look at YOUR child’s curve, growth, symptoms, goals, and individual situation and help you understand what you can actually DO.

And you deserve to have somewhere to take your questions besides the Google search bar at midnight. 🙃

You can be the calm, reassuring mom your child needs AND have someone supporting YOU behind the scenes.

Both can be true. 💛

If you’re a parent who is tired of trying to figure out your child’s scoliosis alone, DM me READY.

Let’s talk about where your child is right now, what you’re worried about, and whether working with us could be the right fit.

Your growth plates closed. Your ability to make progress didn’t. 👏

Yet SO many adults with scoliosis have been told some version of, “You’re done growing, so there’s really nothing you can do.”

And I have a BIG problem with that.

Because one of the most exciting things I see when working with adults with scoliosis is watching body landmarks they thought they were stuck with actually start to change. 👀

That elevated shoulder, the hip shift, scapular winging, asymmetrical skin folds, or the postural changes you’ve noticed every single time you look in the mirror.

These are things we can actually WORK ON.

Does that mean we’re trying to make your body perfectly symmetrical? Absolutely not. That’s not the goal.

And does it happen overnight because you did three scoliosis exercises you found on Instagram? 😂 Also no.

It takes consistency. It takes time. And most importantly, it takes exercises and corrections that are specific to YOUR curve and YOUR body.

But when we start improving alignment, strength, balance, and the way your body moves and supports itself, you may start noticing changes that go way beyond what you see in the mirror.

✨ Less pain and tension
✨ Better strength and balance
✨ Improved function
✨ More confidence in what your body can do
✨ And yes, changes in those body landmarks you may have been told you just had to live with

There is something pretty freaking cool about looking in the mirror and noticing a change in something you thought couldn’t change because you were “too old.”

Being done growing does NOT mean you’re done making progress with your scoliosis.

So if you’re an adult with scoliosis and you’ve been wondering, “Okay… but what can I actually do at this point?” — let’s talk.

Scoliosis turns every day into a nonstop negotiation with your own body.‼️

Shift your weight. Adjust your hips. Fix your posture. Move your shoulder. Try sitting differently. Stand differently. Stretch again.

And somehow… you still don’t feel right.

That constant adjusting isn’t just physically exhausting. It can make you second-guess everything your body is doing.

Where should I be feeling this?
Am I making my curve worse?
Is this exercise actually right for my scoliosis?
Why does nothing seem to stick?

You don’t need another random scoliosis exercise from the internet.

You need to understand your curve, your body, and what YOUR scoliosis needs.

That’s exactly what we teach. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

If you’re ready to stop guessing and learn Schroth exercises specific to your curve and your goals, comment “READY” below.

We’ll chat with you to make sure working together is a good fit and talk about how we can help you move forward with less pain, hesitation, and overwhelm around your scoliosis. ❤️
