It’s interesting to note that today is Valentine’s Day, a day of love and giving. Today is also Ash Wednesday, the start of lent, a period of giving-up. It’s okay to give to the one(s) you love. It’s also okay to give up whatever guilty pleasure(s) you wish to. This year, I challenge you to do differently, don’t just give to and give up, but also give down. Give to the less fortunate, (trust that there’s always those that are less off than you). The destitute neighbor you’ve never spoken to, the homeless from whom you often cross to the other side or just a stranger along the way.
