Integrative psychotherapy and creativity-based healing for people navigating burnout, identity shifts and emotional disconnection (UK-HCPC)

https://linktr.ee/deniseluna As a qualified art therapist and a self-taught abstract painter, I am passionate about sharing the knowledge of how art-making and creative proc

esses within a safe space can lead to a better understanding of life and oneself. My creative skills lie in supporting the journey of self-exploration and personal growth rather than developing a skill or master in the art.

I have a Masters' degree in Art Psychotherapy and a Bachelors' degree in Psychology. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I clinically supervise other professionals in the field too. My private practice takes place online and in-person.

My therapeutic approach is Jungian based and psychodynamic and it also incorporates a mindfulness framework. My therapy practice stems from the belief that everyone is innately creative and I passionately believe that art-making and creating can be an act of self-care and a way of nurturing ourselves.

I love keeping busy with side art projects. I am the author of two arts and crafts books called Rock Art (2015) and Pebble Pets (2018). I also founded Malta's first contemporary crafts market called Patches Market.

In 2008, when still residing in Malta, I founded Malta's first contemporary craft market: PATCHES. What began with just 20 stalls grew to more than 60 a few years later.

It was such a special time: Five years of co-creating alongside talented artisans and helping bring Maltese creativity into the spotlight, giving people the opportunity to appreciate, purchase, and value locally handmade art.

Looking back, I'm incredibly proud of what we built together. This chapter of my life will always hold a very special place in my heart. ❤️

Here's a little glimpse back in time...

One of the biggest compliments I receive is when someone takes the time to share their experience of working with me.

Whether we've met through art therapy, psychotherapy, creative mentoring, supervision, or one of my workshops, your words help others who may be wondering if this is the right support for them.

Choosing a therapist or creative mentor is a deeply personal decision, and honest reviews can make that first step feel a little less daunting.

If we've worked together and you'd like to share your experience, I'd be so grateful if you could leave a review on my Google page. Every review helps more people discover my work and feel confident about reaching out.

And if you're new here, you're very welcome. Feel free to have a read through the reviews to get a sense of how I work.

💛 Thank you for being part of this community.

I love receiving photos of children and adults bringing my rock art designs to life! 🪨🎨

Although many people think rock art is just for children, here's a gentle reminder that creativity has no age limit.

Painting pebbles is a wonderfully mindful, relaxing, and joyful hobby that anyone can enjoy.

If you'd like to explore rock art for yourself, you can find inspiration in any of my three published books:

📖 1. Rock Art! Painting and Crafting with the Humble Pebble (2015) – step-by-step projects to help beginners and experienced crafters create beautiful painted stones.

🐾 2. Pebble Pets: 50 Animal Rock Art Projects (2018) – over 50 fun animal-inspired pebble art projects for all ages.

🌿 3. All-New Twenty to Make: Rock Art (2024) – 20 fresh, easy-to-follow pebble painting projects inspired by nature, patterns, flowers, and animals.

Whether you're looking for a mindful creative hobby, something to do with the family, or simply an excuse to get painting, I hope these books inspire you to pick up a pebble and start creating.

The urge to create has always been a huge part of who I am.

I couldn’t suppress it, hide it, or bury it. The desire and drive have always been there, constantly shifting and expressing themselves in different forms - from digital illustration to fashion photography, jewelry-making, pebble painting, band photography, jellyfish monsters, clay, painting, drawing, and sketching to also founding and running Malta's first contemporary crafts market named Patches Market.

I never fully knew what I was doing, but I also kind of did, because I was having fun and I was in flow. I kept going, leaning into what excited and challenged me at the same time. I learned to trust the path, even without a clear destination.

Along the way, I collaborated with so many inspiring and talented people: musicians, artists, and creatives in both Malta and London. I love bringing ideas together and hearing what others bring to the table creatively.

People who think outside the box are, and always will be, my kind of people.

It was a time of great expansion, both creatively and personally. I look back in awe and gratitude!

I hope you enjoy this little collection from an old digital folder (years 2010-2015) I stumbled across recently.

What if creativity could help you feel more at home within yourself?

I want to re-share my ebook Belonging Through Art and talk about what it includes...

This guide grew out of a 12-week art therapy group I facilitated in London, where we explored identity, home, safety, self-expression, belonging, and personal growth through creativity.

Inside you'll find 8 creative activities, reflective journalling prompts, integration practices, and book recommendations designed to help you slow down and reconnect with yourself.

You don't need any artistic experience. This isn't about making beautiful art: it's about discovering something meaningful through the creative process.

Whether you're looking for gentle self-exploration, fresh inspiration, or creative exercises to complement your own wellbeing practice, I hope this guide offers a space to pause, reflect, and remember what belonging feels like.

✨ Available now via https://deniscicluna.gumroad.com/l/belongingthroughart

I'd love to know... which of these themes speaks to you most right now?

🤎 Identity
🏡 Home
🌿 Safety
🎨 Self-expression
❤️ Belonging
