A new name, same mission.

Rooted in Hope Counseling is now Cornerstone Counseling & Consulting.

This name better reflects the foundation of my work: grounded, practical, compassionate counseling that helps people heal, grow, and move forward with strength and clarity.

Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m excited for what’s ahead.

I think I’m finally going to start a podcast. šŸŽ™ļø

I’ve had the itch for a while.

Not because I want to be an influencer.
Not because I think I’ve got life all figured out.
But because I care about real conversations that actually matter.

As a counselor, husband, father, and business owner… I keep coming back to the same thought:

There’s probably something here worth sharing.

If I do it, I want it to be real.

Not polished.
Not fake.
Not ā€œguruā€ content.

Just honest conversations about:
• mental health
• faith
• fatherhood
• marriage
• entrepreneurship
• discipline
• burnout
• purpose
• emotional resilience
• building a meaningful life

So I need some real advice šŸ‘‡

If you’ve started a podcast (or you’re a big podcast listener), what do I need to know before I do this?
• Solo or guests?
• Audio or video?
• Short-form or long-form?
• Best beginner mic/setup?
• Biggest mistakes to avoid?
• What keeps you listening?

Drop your best advice in the comments or DM me.
If I do this, I want to do it right.

I’m not trying to build noise. I’m trying to build something worth listening to.

The real Saint Patrick story isn’t about luck. šŸ€

He was kidnapped.
Enslaved.
Broken in the wilderness.
And that’s where God met him.

Later, God called him back to the very land of his pain…
not for revenge,
but to preach the Gospel.

That’s the real legacy of Saint Patrick:

grace, repentance, courage, and obedience.

As believers, we don’t trust in luck.
We trust in the providence of God.

This St. Patrick’s Day, remember:

ā˜˜ļø God redeems suffering
ā˜˜ļø God calls us beyond comfort
ā˜˜ļø God uses ordinary people for Kingdom work
ā˜˜ļø You do not need luck — you need Christ

Not luck. Providence.
Not superstition. Truth.
Not random chance. God’s grace.

Most men were taught to be ā€œnice.ā€

Nobody taught us how to be respected.

Big difference.

If you struggle with boundaries, confidence, dating, or constantly putting others first while feeling resentful… this book will hit hard.

No More Mr. Nice Guy explains why ā€œbeing niceā€ is often manipulation in disguise — and how to become grounded, confident, and authentic instead.

Not for the faint of heart.

He wasn’t angry.

He was exhausted.

A husband told me recently, ā€œI don’t know why I’m snapping at everyone. I love my family.ā€

After we talked, one thing became clear:

He was sleeping 4–5 hours a night for months.

Sleep deprivation doesn’t just make you tired.
It makes you reactive. Foggy. Short-tempered. Disconnected.

Many Christian men think pushing through exhaustion is strength.

It’s not.

Rest is stewardship.

If stress, irritability, or family tension are increasing, it may be time to look deeper.

If you’re ready to lead from clarity instead of exhaustion, you can book a confidential session through my contact page.

ā€œBuild before the rain.ā€

Earlier this week, I shared a short reflection on Facebook from my Bible-in-a-year reading plan—Genesis 6, where God gives Noah instructions to build the ark before the storm.

The response was bigger than I expected. A lot of people resonated with the idea of preparation happening before crisis.

So I expanded it into a full blog post.

In the article, I explore:
• Why the ark was built during ordinary life
• How this story mirrors mental health work today
• What it means to ā€œwaterproof inside and outā€ emotionally
• Why counseling is often most effective before things fall apart

Mental health isn’t just about surviving storms—it’s about preparing for them.

If this idea resonates with you, you can read the full reflection here:
