Bringing Therapy Home provides specialized, individual therapy for children, birth -18 years old, in the following areas:

curs in our center-based program at 435 and College in Overland Park, Kansas. An individualized treatment plan is developed that is multi-sensory, child-centered, and play based. Parent collaboration is an essential component to Bringing Therapy Home. The Bringing Therapy Home page was established to provide daily ideas for parents, caregivers, therapists, and teachers to naturally embed skills within a child's daily routine. The posted content is based on current research, professional experience, and personal opinion and experience.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Mike and Brandy, members of the BTH team attended Big Slick.

We laughed.

We danced.

We gasped.

$4,241, 814 was raised for Children's Mercy Hospital.

Big Slick is an incredible event that brings together a community to make a difference for children in our city.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of an evening filled with generosity, inspiration, and humor.

Happy 9th Birthday, Connor!

If you know Connor, you already know his mind moves fast, his ideas run deep, and somewhere between the brainstorm and the big reveal, the rest of us find ourselves wondering how we got so lucky to witness it all.

His humor is filled with wit and impeccable timing. He laughs easily and loves a good joke!

He knows the people that genuinely like him and, once you form a bond with him, it is unbreakable.

Connor, spending time with you is one of my favorite things.

Look who is TWELVE!

Happy Birthday, Truman!

Everytime I spend time with you, I think, "I wish I would have known him from the start!"

You approach life with an abundance of energy and excitement.

You are authentically YOU without reservations or hesitation. You show up as your magnificent self and make connections quickly, smile often, laugh easily, and amaze us with how quickly your mind works. You are ten steps ahead of all of us!

You are fast! When you decide to explore or move to another space, your speed increases and helps me to realize I can move faster than I thought too!

You have the best taste in music and your preferences are often ones I grew up listening to in the 90s. Because of you, I'm listening to Dido, Mr. Big, and Len again! You have also introduced me to music I've never heard! "Lookout Kid" by Arcade Fire has become one of my favorites - thanks to you!

Your growth has been substantial. After spending 45 minutes with you every week for years, I get to go to your mom and say, "Guess what he did today!" and "When did he start (fill in the blank)?!"

Your love for your mom is absolutely beautiful and profound. She loves you so deeply and you love her right back with the same depth and magnitude.

You have changed the trajectory of my career in the absolute best way. I imagine anyone who knows you would say, "Truman has changed the trajectory of my life too."

Congratulations, Allen!

You are a high school graduate!

Today, I had the honor of attending Allen’s graduation party.

What an honor to celebrate such a meaningful milestone with Allen, his parents, his sisters, and other instrumental people in their lives.

Allen started at Bringing Therapy Home when he was in 4th grade. To think that we have had the privilege of watching his growth through 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade feels extraordinary. How did we become so fortunate to get this kind of time with one of the most amazing humans?!

Allen is the person who will sit with you, engage in conversation, answer your questions, look through your pictures, and genuinely listen as you share stories. He makes people feel valued and connected because of the kind of listener he is.

He will share every fact he knows about the Kansas City Chiefs and share insight from the games. He is their number one fan!

He is also one of the hardest-working individuals I know. Allen’s growth did not happen by chance. It reflects the determination, persistence, and effort he has put in day after day, year after year. He keeps trying, keeps learning, and keeps showing up. And it shows!

Because Allen is a triplet, it was also beautiful to see him celebrating with his sisters. In the fall, his sisters will head off to college in different states while Allen continues his journey here at home.

Every path is unique and every milestone deserves to be celebrated. His parents have taught us that.

We are simply so proud of you, Allen!

Sometimes we get people that come into our lives and they have a profound impact on us almost immediately.

They share their joy, compassion, and knowledge.

They model interactions with others.

They laugh easily.

They meet kids where they are.

They have boundless energy.

It often feels like we have known them a lifetime.

That has been Morgan Jennings from the start.

When I first met Morgan 3 years ago, I thought, "I really hope she accepts the position so I can learn from her!"

She did accept the position and, wow - her impact at BTH (and beyond) has been substantial!

Today is her last day at BTH because she is moving to Texas.

What a paradox of emotions to wish she could stay with us but to also want her to expand her influence in this world.

Morgan, thank you for the love and knowledge you shared with us!

It's going to be hard not seeing you walk through the doors and to not watch you playing with kids on the floor.

We are thrilled for this opportunity for you, your husband, and your growing family.

You are an extraordinary one.

I can't wait to see all that is ahead for you and Mike!

Maybe you are like me and the month of May has been WILD.

Maybe your evenings are full of "end of the year" activities and your days are filled with reminders on everything you still have to do.

Maybe you are like me and wonder what you are forgetting and how it will all get done.

But, maybe you are like me, and you get reminders on what matters because of people like Millie.

Here is what matters:

Being with the people you love and admire.

People that remind you to laugh and be silly.

People that dance and sing.

People that give you a chance to remember you are exactly where you need to be.

Congratulations, Zoe!

Today we had the honor of celebrating Zoe at her high school graduation party.

What a milestone it is to witness!

Zoe joined BTH in June of 2023 as a group assistant for our summer groups. Over the course of three summers, showing up week after week, Zoe became an asset to our team.

Watching Zoe in action is EXTRAORDINARY!

She meets people exactly where they are. She remains calm in the moments that call for it most. She listens - truly, actively listens. And she does all of it with a smile, a laugh, and an abundance of energy.

Zoe values people. She celebrates them. And in doing so, she creates a space where people feel safe, seen, and can be exactly who they are!

She is the one that will celebrate you, cheer you on, and be the one that is genuinely thrilled for you.

Zoe, watching you reach this milestone is extraordinary. You have given so much to the children and families of BTH and I cannot wait to see everything that comes next for you.

You deserve the world!

Congratulations, Emma!

I had the honor of attending Emma's graduation party today and knew it would be an emotional experience.

I first met Emma when she was just six years old.

It was May 2014.

At the time, BTH didn't have a center-based location. We went into the child's home.

I was there to work with James, an absolutely delightful three-year old.

And right there beside us - every single time - was Emma.

Six-years old.

Attentive.

Kind.

Funny.

Incredibly engaging.

Naturally facilitating and modeling language.

Time after time, she showed up for her brother in the most beautiful way.

I knew then that this girl was destined for greatness.

Emma is exactly what the world needs. Strong. Brave. Determined. An advocate. Hilarious. Gracious. A hard worker. Truly, extraordinary in every capacity.

I can't wait to see your continued impact in this world!

You are AMAZING!
