At this year's 2026 Mississippi Peer Conference, the Association of Mississippi Peer Support Specialists and Disability Rights Mississippi recognized three of our employees working in peer support for their incredible contributions.

Mason Hester received the Peer Passion Award from Disability Rights Mississippi, an honor that reflects his commitment to going above and beyond in leadership, advocacy, and utilizing his lived experience to help others.

Andrew Newsom received the MIC Award from the Association of Mississippi Peer Support Specialists to celebrate his commitment to using his voice in advocating for peer specialists.

Meredith Davidson received the Inspiring Hope Award for her outstanding work in supporting others through their mental health and substance use recovery journeys.

Each of these individuals plays a key role in providing safety and support when it's needed most. We are so proud to have such an amazing staff dedicated to improving Mississippi!

Boundaries don’t have to be dramatic, but they do have to be clear. Saying no, asking for space, protecting your peace, and naming what you need are all valid ways to take care of your mental health.

And if that seems hard, we can help.

In a crisis, the goal is not just to respond. It’s to respond well.

Communicare works alongside local law enforcement to help connect people in crisis with care, support, and resources that can lead to safer outcomes.

We may not always stand exactly shoulder to shoulder, but we are working hand in hand toward the same goal: helping people get through the moment safely and find the support they need beyond it.

After expanding access to mental health and substance use treatment through the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) grant program, we are excited to announce that we are now a pilot site for Mississippi's CCBHC Medicaid Demonstration Program.

This transition helps create a more sustainable system of care, allowing us to continue providing and expanding comprehensive, whole-person services to individuals and families across North Mississippi.

Did you know that May is Hepatitis Awareness month?

We recently tested 75 people for Hepatitis C, and 6 of those individuals tested positive. It’s here, in your community, and it might even be in you.

A lot of people don’t realize they have Hepatitis C because it often doesn't have symptoms for decades. At that point, the damage to your liver is already done.

Getting tested has never been easier now that we are providing FREE hepatitis C testing and treatment. Get tested and help us get the word out to make our communities healthier!

People in all six of the counties we serve (Lafayette, Marshall, Panola, Tate, Calhoun, and Yalobusha) can access it, so let your friends and family know, too!
