🇺🇸 HAPPY LABOR DAY TO OUR INCREDIBLE NURSES! 🩺❤️

Today, we celebrate the nurses whose work never truly pauses—even when the rest of the country is enjoying a holiday.

To every nurse working today, missing family time, answering call lights, comforting patients, saving lives, and surviving the shift on caffeine and courage: we see you, we appreciate you, and we honor you!

And to every nurse enjoying a well-deserved day off: please rest without guilt. The scrubs—and the call lights—will still be there tomorrow! 😂

From all of us at Nursing Embassy, thank you for your compassion, sacrifice, resilience, and dedication.

Happy Labor Day! Are you working today or enjoying your day off? 👇

🇺🇸 10 Questions to Ask During a Nursing Job Interview

A nursing interview is not only about impressing the hospital, the hospital must also impress you before you accept the job! 😅

Ask these questions:

1. Which documentation system do you use? Epic, Meditech, Cerner, or some 1560 pre-colonial system.

2. What type of IV pumps are used? Very crucial because that’s what you will use to give your IV meds.
You don’t want your first shift to feel like an engineering exam.

3. What scrub colors are allowed? Find out before buying an entire wardrobe in the wrong color!

4. What is the nurse-to-patient ratio? “It depends” may be your first red flag. 🚩

5. How frequently are nurses floated? Are you hired for one unit—or secretly for the entire hospital?

6. How long is orientation? A proper orientation should be longer than “Here is your badge—good luck!” 😂

7. Are CNAs, phlebotomists, and transporters available? Or will you be the nurse, CNA, transporter, phlebotomist, and part-time magician?

8. Do you allow self-scheduling or block scheduling? Your work-life balance may depend on this answer.

9. Is there a sign-on bonus—and what are the conditions? Read the fine print before that bonus turns into a long-term relationship!

10. Which shifts are available? Ask about days, evenings, nights, 8-hour shifts, and 12-hour shifts.

Remember: You are interviewing the hospital just as much as the hospital is interviewing you. Ask questions now—or discover the answers during your first chaotic shift!

🚨 Important NCLEX Update!

Beginning February 1, 2027, NCLEX registration fees will increase:

🇺🇸 United States: $200 → $350 USD
🇦🇺 Australia: $200 → $350 USD
🇨🇦 Canada: $360 → $570 CAD

If you plan to take or retake the NCLEX, register before February 1, 2027, to pay the current fee. Your exam can be scheduled for a later date—the registration date determines the fee.

The State Department has vacated the 75-Country immigrant visa ban policy

In response to the complaints that they are no longer scheduling visa interviews despite court ruling, they have responded: Policy is vacated.

They further guide that no visa interviews through August 31st does not mean implementation of the policy.

This implies that from September 1st, we may start seeing visa interviews being scheduled.

Guys the 75-country visa ban is over

Trump administration pauses all immigrant visa appointments worldwide.
The government says they want to take time to train immigration officers on how to identify applicants with high risk of public charge.

This pause does not affect short term visas such as tourist or student visas.

What are your thoughts on this decision by the government?

Avant introduces a new bonus- a 10K completion bonus.

This means that if they bring you into the US and you finish their contract of about 2.5 years, they will pay you an extra $10k as a completion bonus.

What do you think about this strategy by Avant? Is it their plan to motivate nurses complete assignment contract hours?
