The FDA’s Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee voted in favor of adding four peptides, BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, and MOTS-c, to the 503A Bulks List. The vote was close, 8 to 6 with one abstention, and notably went against the recommendation of the FDA’s own scientific staff.
A quick clarification since headlines can get ahead of the facts: this is an advisory vote, not a final rule. The FDA still has to formally act on it, and that process takes time. Nothing changes at compounding pharmacies today.
Here’s why it still matters. It signals a potential shift toward bringing peptide therapies that patients are already seeking, often through unregulated channels, into a legitimate, accountable compounding framework. At Renew Vitality, our approach has always been built around the triad of care: patient, physician, and pharmacy working in coordination, supported by rigorous sourcing standards and decisions grounded in real biomarker data.
As this regulatory landscape continues to evolve, that foundation only becomes more important. We’ll keep our community informed as things develop.
