Our Team celebrated Mental Health Awareness Month by wearing green this week!

National Mental Health Awareness Month promotes understanding, reduces stigma, and encourages support for mental well-being. The color green—symbolizing hope—is widely worn to show awareness and solidarity.

In 2016, the “Get Your Green On” campaign began in Delray Beach as a grassroots community initiative encouraging individuals to wear green and spark conversations about mental health. Since then, it has grown across Palm Beach county, bringing together schools, organizations, and residents in support of a more open and stigma-free community. Local mental health providers, social services agencies, county entities, and other organizations participate by wearing green and sharing messages on social media to help raise awareness.

ICYMI from WPBF 25 News: stroke simulator teaches public to spot stroke signs during 'The Golden Hour'

The simulator is a chair that provides users with a hands-on experience to understand what a stroke can look and feel like.

The device uses the acronym "BE FAST" to guide users through stroke symptoms: Balance problems, Eyes blurring, Facial drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call 911.

The simulator also includes a short quiz about stroke risk factors, aiming to educate the community about stroke symptoms and the importance of acting quickly.

"We want our community, the Delray community and the Palm Beach County community, to know what stroke-like symptoms look like," Dr. Dennys Reyes, an interventional neurologist at Delray Medical Center, said.
