Exciting news! The Capitol now has a universal changing station located in the ground-floor accessible restroom at the end of the East Wing corridor (just past Room 15). To access the table, please stop at the security station on that floor for the key. This important addition helps ensure individuals of all ages and abilities can access necessary care with dignity and support. Thanks to the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education for raising awareness and advocacy for Universal changing stations. Rep. Ashley Carrick has a bill on this need, HB 141. If you would like to follow along, text a bill number (ex, HB141) to 559-245-2529 to enroll in text alerts.

Two more weeks and we leave for Key campaign in Juneau. Eric is ready to discuss not wanting to ever have to be changed on a bathroom floor again. We hope to meet with the sponsor of HB 141 about safe changing tables requirements. Eric is looking forward to it.
