Did you know Oreo cookies were first introduced by Nabisco in 1912 in New York City? It wasn’t until 2001 that the first Fried Oreo made its debut at a state fair in California—and they’ve been a fair favorite ever since! 🎡😋
This weekend, Brandy had the ladies mixing up the pancake batter, while Nurse Hailey dipped and fried those Oreos to golden, delicious perfection! 👩‍🍳✨

✨ Day 7 “Still Shining” was SWEET! 🍧

We had a great final day of Assisted Living Week thanks to Brandy and Popsicles on the Porch!

Did you know Popsicles were an accidental invention, made by an 11 year old boy!? Frank left his soda water on the porch with his wooden stirring stick and it froze overnight and he named it “Epsicle”, which was a combo of his last name and icicle!
Cherry 🍒, Orange 🍊, and Grape 🍇 were the original flavors!

✨ Day 6 “Connections through the Ages” was SWEET! 🍭

We had a great day thanks to our friend Angel Turner with Emerald Coast Hospice! Lollipops, Licorice, Sour 🍒 Cherries, Chocolate Candies— what’s your favorite sweet treat!?

Candy transitioned in the 19th Century from a luxury item to an affordable treat for all to enjoy when the industrialization made sugar cheaper ! Candy Shops became a common treat and community favorite for all to enjoy!

✨ Day 5 “Creativity through the Ages” was SPARKLING !

We had a great day thanks to Shannon Vallas and Better Life Senior Solutions!

We tried out “Glitter Bomb” to our favorite photos and it was a hit! We made our photos sparkle and shine ! We also made the cutest 🍒 50’s Diner Style Floral Arrangement! We topped it off with a Farmer’s Market Fruit 🍌 Bar! Thank you Women's Civic Club of PCB, FL for all of your help today!

We have enjoyed celebrating ALF week and entertaining our residents with new and fun activities!

✨ Day 4 “Wisdom through the Ages” was a hit! 🪶

We had a great day thanks to our friend Donna from Peoples Health Services! Residents wrote “Pearls of Wisdom” and enjoyed an Ice Cream Cart! 🍦

Did you know “Pearls of Wisdom” metaphor comes from comparing ideas to pearls, because they are both precious and enduring, formed through time and challenging situations. The Book of Job in The Bible even says the price of Wisdom is above that of pearls!

We enjoyed reading everyone’s wise words today and enjoying these moments with our residents!
