Life has been wonderfully busy over here at Jubilee Wellness Collective!
We've been a little quiet on social media, but that's because we've been doing what we love most—caring for our patients. Our days have been filled with evaluations, follow-up visits, medication management, hormone consultations, and walking alongside women through every season of life.
Just because we've been quiet doesn't mean we've gone anywhere. We're still here, still accepting new patients and referrals, and still passionate about providing thoughtful, evidence-based mental health and hormone care.
Our goal is to get back to sharing more educational content, behind-the-scenes moments, and videos soon. We have so much we want to teach about women's mental health, perimenopause, menopause, ADHD, anxiety, depression, postpartum care, and functional approaches to wellness.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted us with your care and who continues to recommend Jubilee Wellness Collective to your family and friends. Your referrals mean more than you know.
We're here. We're growing. And we're excited for what's ahead.
Now accepting new patients throughout Florida via telehealth.

One thing that often gets left out of the hormone therapy conversation is cost.
If you aren't using hormone pellets and you have insurance, bioidentical hormones from your local pharmacy are often covered aside from your copay.
As a general example:
• Estradiol patches are often around $30/month.
• Oral micronized progesterone can be as little as $9/month using GoodRx if paying cash without insurance.
Not everyone needs both estrogen and progesterone, and sometimes prescribing a 90-day supply lowers the overall cost even more.
Some women do benefit from testosterone, and this is where things become a little more complicated because women's hormone care has lagged behind for years. Depending on the formulation (cream, micro-dosed gel, injections, etc.), testosterone may cost anywhere from about $30–70 per month depending on insurance coverage and cash pricing.
These are general estimates, and every woman's treatment plan should be individualized based on her symptoms, medical history, goals, and lab evaluation.
If you're overwhelmed by all the information online, you're not alone. At Jubilee Wellness Collective, helping women understand hormones is one of my favorite parts of practice. I love educating women so they can make informed decisions—not based on marketing, but on evidence and what makes sense for their own bodies.
Some excellent resources if you'd like to learn more:
• Kelly Casperson, MD – You Are Not Broken
• Estrogen Matters by Avrum Bluming, MD & Carol Tavris, PhD
• Dr. Mary Claire Haver – The New Menopause
These are wonderful evidence-based resources that explain why hormones matter, who may benefit from therapy, and how to have informed conversations with your healthcare provider.

For my friends that struggle with migraines!

Conclusion: Perimenopause is associated with high-frequency, moderate to severe migraine headache. Lower Estradiol levels were correlated with high migraine severity scores (VAS and MIDAS). The frequency of perimenopausal symptoms is higher, whereas the Estradiol level is lower in migrainous compared to nonmigrainous women

Start screening for estradiol and treating in perimenopause?

I've come to realize that the to-do list never actually ends.
There will always be another email to answer, another load of laundry, another chart to finish, another goal to chase. For a long time, I told myself I'd rest when everything was done. The problem is... everything is never done.
Lately, I'm learning to release the pressure of constantly trying to "catch up" and instead focus on being present in the life I'm working so hard to build.
The work will still be there tomorrow. The people I love, the sunset, the laughter, the quiet moments, those are what deserve my attention today.
Maybe peace isn't found at the end of the to-do list. Maybe it's found in deciding that you've done enough for one day.

Anyone else struggle with having a never finished to-do list and leaving it for tomorrow? I am working on it. 💕

One of the things I continue to learn as I expand my knowledge in women's health, hormones, metabolism, and mental health is how interconnected our bodies truly are.
Many of us have heard, or even said, "Your labs look fine." I know I have. Looking back, I realize that sometimes standard lab work doesn't tell the whole story. As clinicians, we have so much to consider when evaluating symptoms, and ongoing education helps us provide better care for our patients.
One tool that has gained attention in both research and clinical practice is the HOMA-IR (Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance). HOMA-IR is a calculation that uses fasting glucose and fasting insulin levels to estimate how hard the body is working to maintain normal blood sugar levels.
Why does this matter?
Insulin resistance can develop years before someone meets the criteria for prediabetes or diabetes. During this time, blood sugar levels may still appear "normal" on routine testing, while the body is producing increasing amounts of insulin to keep glucose controlled.
Research has linked insulin resistance to:
• Weight gain and difficulty losing weight
• Fatigue and brain fog
• Cravings and increased hunger
• PCOS and fertility concerns
• Inflammation
• Cardiovascular disease risk
• Hormonal imbalances
• Anxiety, depression, and cognitive changes
HOMA-IR helps identify metabolic dysfunction earlier, allowing for conversations about nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and other interventions before blood sugar abnormalities become obvious.
This is one reason I continue to appreciate a more comprehensive approach to health. Hormones affect mood. Metabolism affects hormones. Sleep affects both. Mental health and physical health cannot be separated.
If you've ever been told your labs are normal but you still don't feel well, it may be worth taking a deeper look. Sometimes the answers are found in the patterns between labs, symptoms, lifestyle factors, and physiology rather than a single "abnormal" result.
The more I learn, the more I realize how much there is to learn. My goal at Jubilee Wellness Collective is to continue growing, asking better questions, and providing evidence-based, compassionate care that looks at the whole person—not just a lab value.

Vitamin D gets a lot of attention, but the conversation is often more complicated than simply "get more sunshine."
Our bodies can make vitamin D from sun exposure, but the amount varies tremendously based on where you live, the season, time of day, skin tone, age, sunscreen use, clothing, and how much time is actually spent outdoors. Even in sunny climates, many women still have low vitamin D levels.
Vitamin D plays an important role in bone health, immune function, muscle strength, mood regulation, and overall wellness. Women may be at higher risk for deficiency during pregnancy, breastfeeding, perimenopause, menopause, or when spending most of their day indoors.
Testing can help determine whether vitamin D levels are truly optimal. When supplementation is needed, quality matters. I often recommend Osteo PX because it contains important cofactors that work alongside vitamin D to support proper utilization in the body. Nutrients do not work in isolation, and these supporting ingredients can be an important part of the equation.
Vitamin D is also a fat soluble vitamin, which means it is generally absorbed better when taken with a meal that contains healthy fats. Something as simple as taking it with eggs, butter, avocado, or another source of dietary fat can help improve absorption.
At Jubilee Wellness Collective, we believe in looking at the whole picture. Lab testing, nutrition, hormones, lifestyle, and targeted supplementation all play a role in helping women feel their best.
If you have questions about your vitamin D status or whether supplementation is right for you, we are happy to help guide you through a personalized approach.
