I was in a writing workshop this morning, and I really wanted to share this snippet with you.

The prompt was: A quality in me that has quietly grown stronger over time.

Wisdom doesn't come with age, especially in my case. I'm nearly 40, but I feel like I've lived several lives already.

People look at me and see calm, collected. What they don't see is that struggle underneath the surface. It reminds me of "The Duck Syndrome." On the surface, it looks like the duck is calm and enjoying the water, but what we don't see is the furious pedaling under the water keeping that duck afloat.

These last three years, I was in survival mode. Decades of trauma, health struggles, grief, all of it came to a head. I thought I was handling it. Really, I had just gotten good at numbing it. And numbing isn't healing, it's a band aid.

I can't fully heal until I tend to the wounds properly.

What's grown stronger in me is my ability to sit in discomfort. I don't fear the ugly feelings anymore, or worry about the "right" way to feel them. I just feel. The full spectrum.

Sometimes it's heavy. There's still beauty in it. Because I know when, not if, when, I come out the other side, I'm going to meet a version of me I love even more.

As we say goodbye to June, and step into the second half of 2026, here's what's happening:

We're kicking things off on July 1st at Homeschool Information Day. Come see how art can support your family's learning, and enter our raffle while you're at it.

Then we head back to Seven Stones for the final three sessions of 'A Place to Land'.

This series has been so wonderfully welcomed by the Seven Stones community. It's for anyone who's carrying a lot of weight: the death of a loved one, responsibilities you didn't ask for, finding yourself again. the art provides comfort, the community provides support.

July 7 — Holding
July 14 — Strength
July 21 — Growth

Each one runs from 10am–12pm at Seven Stones Cemetery in Littleton

Here's why I've been quiet.

A little over a month ago, my aunt was diagnosed with cancer.
She is not just my aunt. She is my mom in every way that matters.

When I heard, I shattered.

Then the call came. Not even a week after her diagnosis.

"Come now"

I left my therapy session halfway. Booked a flight. Sat through 30 hours of agonizing travel, head numb, tears falling, waiting for updates I knew my family would soften to protect me.

I was angry. I didn't need protection. I needed to know so I could process.

When I finally saw her I was so happy to be there.
And so broken.

I sat with her. Fed her. Cleaned her. Held her. Shared stories of joy and comfort.

And then stepped away and cried where she couldn't see me.

I smiled in front of her and broke quietly. Every single day.

I had two weeks with her. I thought I had years.

Grief doesn't care what I know. It doesn't care that I teach emotional processing through art. It just moves through you.

The anger. The guilt. The sadness. The regret. The love underneath all of it.

No way of processing is wrong. No pace is too slow. No emotion is too much.

I lived that in my body these past weeks. Not just in my mind.

You are not less for feeling it.
You are not alone in it.

May is here and I am truly grateful. Grateful that my month is filling up with opportunities to share what I do with this community. Grateful to you for giving me the space to do this.

This month is Mental Health Awareness Month. And for me, that's not a theme — it's personal. I cannot separate my work from my mental health. The work exists because of my struggles. I've been through deep depression. I still navigate anxiety. Art has been a friend through all of it.

That's what I bring into every workshop, every room, every event this month. This May I get to show up in more spaces than ever to share how art can be there for you too. That still feels like a gift.

Last Friday I walked into a room full of high-achieving women.

Women who pour everything into their families, their work, their communities. Women who are GOOD at showing up for everyone else.

I asked them one question: what do you crave most right now?
Every single one of them said the same thing.
Calm.

We spent the morning talking about anxiety. Not hiding from it — actually looking at it. Naming it. And giving ourselves some real tools to work with it.

I've been to a lot of networking events. This wasn't that. This was something else entirely.

Thank you Lenzi and the team at for building 'The Table' — a space where faith, vulnerability, and real conversation get to coexist. The last Friday of every month, these women show up for each other. I got to witness that firsthand.

This afternoon was needed — not just for the dozen women in the room, but for me too.

Friends walked in excited, not knowing what to expect, but ready to play. Sending them straight to the accessories took the edge off — because when you have butterfly clips in your hair, how can you take life seriously?! 🦋

They grabbed their drinks (thank you for the deliciousness!) and were ready to paint.

We made a mess, we drew hearts, wrote love notes to each other, we laughed, we cried, and walked out with hearts full.

"My bestie and I really enjoyed the experience and I will definitely be signing up for another one!" ❤️
